Maxi is not starting at the 5. And Kyrie has locked up harden before. Weve seen kleber on kawhi before he gets cooked that's dumb man. Kleber also has a consistency problem both on and off the ball. No, mavs need to play their best lineup of Luka / Kyrie / DJJ / PJ Washington, and daniel Gafford. Zu can't stay on the floor cause Luka will play him off the floor. I feel like this isn't rocket science man. Weve seen this movie 2x already. Why in the hell do you want maxi on kawhi? hell no. I want maxi to touch the court as little as possible. And I certainly don't want to see dwight powell out there.

Those season stats don't say much. And those previous series, luka didn't have a running mate like kyrie. You can trap, but there is kyrie on the other end now.

I think start mavs start with luka on PG. Luka can guard big wins and has taken significant steps this year in that side of the ball. Also at this point you’ve 2good parameter def on kawhi & harden. Hoping pg avg his 22-24ppg on luka I don’t think that is bad in any sense if Djj & pg can any way or form make it way hard for harden & kawhi. Off the bench we also have Exum/maci/Green so they can get minutes in those guys too here and there but bro I say give luka the challenge.

The reality is kyrie can effectivly guard harden. But not vice versa.

There is a danger of over emphasizing the last Golden State game. Mavs on end of road trip, had to fly from CA to Houston, play them and then back across two time zones again to play at GS. That makeup game was a horrible schedule for the Mavs.
Clippers might as well start planning their summer vacations because the way Luka and Kyrie are playing, the Clippers aren’t getting past the Mavericks… especially with a limited Kawhi Leonard
Luka shot less than 50percent FG and 3pt against Kawhi..when Luka ask for a pick, its not gona be Zubac,,its either PG or Terrence Man, ..Kawhi PG and Terrence will be switching,,Luka wont be able to milk Zu..
Wow its interesting to see so many people picking the Mavs over the Clippers. Its all going to come down to how healthy to Kawhi is, and what version of PG and Harden the Clippers get. A lot of question marks on the Clippers to be fair. We shall see.
Who’s guarding who doesnt really matter with with the mavs this year, kidd has run a 3-2 zone basically the whole year with a lotta switching to get luka hidden, so maybe it matters a few possessions but it gonna be more on the ability for the bigs to switch

Clippers will get stomped. Their lack of urgency and lack of guts will play a big role against a very confident and conected Mavs squad. Luka take that particular matchup personaly, and man oh man, you dont want a pissed off Luka in a 7 game series especialy because he missed the playoffs last season. Boy is waiting for this atmosphere. Dallas in 6.

And tbh i cant wait to see Ty Lue looking desperate with the Luka show, throwing PJ Tucker at him waiting for a miracle, and Luka gonna turn PJ Tucket into Jack Landale.
The big question for this series, to me, is whether Jason Kidd will try to match Clippers small ball by going to Maxi at the 5 right away, or whether he'll try to use size against the Clippers by continuing to play Gafford and Lively. I hope for the latter- I think they need to use their size advantage.

Dont be surprised if Kahwi loose a couple of first games in the playoffs. His knee is cronicaly bad. The mental part of knowing you have a weak knee will be crucial in a 200% intense physical playoff game.
You all must think the first round is going to be pretty boring if you think this is the “best” matchup. Kawhi and Harden’s issues will not make this a very competitive series to watch, even if it goes to 6.

Terrifying and exciting series as a Mavs fan
There is no world in which zubac would play Dallas small ball off the floor. It would be the opposite. Dallas has two 7’0 footers who the defense purposely funnels to, they want to play big! Zubac has been cooked over and over and over again in the Luka era. Zubac would be the one getting played off the floor, forcing the clippers to play small.
This doesn’t sound like you watched any Mavs games this year …
respectfully, it goes both ways. I agree that Zubac would bully a small-ball Kleber at 5 lineup. But Luka will eat Zubac alive on the other end and force him off the court.
