  1. I was told he had 3+2 deal a long time ago. The +2 automatically kick when he made the playoffs in his 1st year. It was an incentive based metric.

Pelicans organization being transparent as a lead wall. Something never changes.

My feeling this season was that he MUST win a playoff series in order to keep his job.

Well… gotta beat the Nuggets or Thunder…if we win the play-in. I think going 0-22 in 4th quarter comebacks is seriously damning though.

Lmao at all the fools with the “There’s a reason he hadn’t been extended yet” talk 😂😂 Stop tryna blame the coach when our best player puts up 12 points and terrible defense in a do or die game vs LeBron and AD. You can’t expect to win games when your stars don’t show up

Willie deserves the extension. Fuck what yall talking about

Even with *significant* roster turnover, I’m at a point where I just don’t feel like he’ll make the most out of whatever talent we have down here.

I dunno how big of an effect Borrego has on the team. I dunno if it’s Willie that no one calls for our 2 best players to get involved in actions. I dunno if it’s 100% Willie to send Tony Snell out for a play-in game, as well as send Zeller out there when JV got a literal 3 mins for playing time. There’s multiple more examples where it just feels like coaching is fundamentally dragging this team down.

Coach isn’t the be all end all problem here..he can tell guys to guard lebron better, it is up to the players to dial in and actually do it. He has progressed with wins each year which means he’s gotten better..the grass isn’t always greener on the other side (look at the team the previous years before Coach Green). If we had like the Pistons/Hornets/Spurs type records and had no shot at playoffs mid season then sure whole sale changes needs to be made but coming out the west with 49 wins in a loaded conference is not remotely close to calling for the coach to be on the hot seat.

Whoever wants Willie to remain is clearly content with being mid.

Obv it all doesnt lie on him, Griff has fucked up with the roster construction, Zion hasn’t evolved his game much (looks like he’s starting too which is nice), but Willie consistently gets outcoached.

AD last night was complaining on broadcast that the Lakers ran the same play like 20 times. Did we adjust to it? Nope.

0-22 when trailing going into the 4th? Thats not all on the players, it starts with the coach.

We can be thankful Willie got us this far, but he is NOT the guy to get us over the hump and if you cannot see that, idk man.

If he won’t be fired, I expect that the GM will bring the switchable rim protector who can stretch the floor on offense. If this happens and we still won’t be able to compete against the top teams, then it will be time for coaching change.
