Pistons May Hire President Of Basketball Operations
The Detroit Pistons rebuild has gone as hoped for. That includes currently wrapping up the worst season in franchise history. That has Pistons owner Tom Gores considering making changes.
One of those changes Gores is considering is hiring a president of basketball operations. That person would have final say in all basketball matters. The idea is to have complete organizational synergy from the top down.
For now, it appears that head coach Monty Williams will return next season. He’s completing the first year of an eight-year contract worth up to $100 million. It’s unclear what general manager Troy Weaver’s role could be in a new front office structure.
