  1. Late season surge ? Luka was great all year long. National media is clueless & picks off narratives. That comment annoyed tf outta me.

  2. Brou still had the take a few days ago that the MVP necessarily shouldn't be the best player ??

  3. Most assists in a season by a center:

    708 — Jokic this season
    702 — Wilt Chamberlain
    678 — Jokic last season

Joker just recorded the most assists ever by a center over a 2 season span.

  4. Jokić was fifth in total points, third in total rebounds, second in total assists, and eighth in total steals. He’s the only player in NBA history to be top-10 in all four categories in a single season.
Nikola was the only player in the NBA that was top-15 in average points (twelfth), assists (fourth), and rebounds (fourth) this season.
Jokić led the entire league in on/off offensive efficiency with plus-18.9 points per 100 possessions.
He was first in total plus-minus at plus-682.
Jokić was first in VORP (Value Over Replacement Player), PER (Player Efficiency Rating), Win Shares, Offensive Win Shares, Box Plus/Minus, Offensive Box Plus/Minus, and Defensive Box Plus/Minus.
Every single Nuggets starter had a higher effective field goal percentage with Jokić on the floor compared to him off it.
Jokić was the only player in the league that averaged at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. He's the sixth player to ever put up these numbers.
Nikola was second in total at-rim assists and total two-point assists.
He was first in total steals by a center.
Jokić was fifth in total deflections in the NBA.
He was second in the NBA in non-restricted painted area field goal percentage at 61.7 percent (minimum 100 attempts). This is typically where players take floaters and hook shots from.
He finished second in total points in the painted area.
Jokić was first in post-up points and assists.
He also led the league in total points and total assists from the elbows.
Jokić recorded the second-most double-doubles in the league with 68 and the second-most triple-doubles with 25.

  5. Both OKC and Nuggets are deeper teams than Mavs, and Luka in that team, has pulled Mavs into a playoffs spot, with one of the most injured teams around this season and he himself has been injured and is the MOST BLITZED player.

Bruh, he's literally climbing uphill, bruised and battered and is putting up numbers no one is or has for some time now.

    LUKA…….. M-V-P 🏀🏀🏀

  6. All Lakers should win all the season awards. They're LeBron's teammates for crying out loud.

  7. Tatum is great bc his team is great? His team could win it all without him, that is how stacked it is. You need better reasoning, Brou.

  8. so for DPOY, yall saying we cant give to gobert coz we dont have him his 3rd dpoy coz he will be joining the likes of ben wallace and gobert isnt yet?!

so now we dont need to factor team standings or team stats? so wemby will win it, by a mile coz of player stats…

marcus smart kevin garnet ron artest won dpoy not by stats.. thier stats not top tier..

nba really is crazy, no concrete criteria for awards.. all narrative😂😂

  9. And to think that Kobe only won 1 MVP for his whole nba career. the MVP award is a joke. they should just stop giving it out.

  10. The 6th seed jokic mvp finish was because he missed 2 other starters the ENTIRE YEAR. I know brou and nick know that lol idk why they act like they just randomly broke the "rules"

  11. I agree with his pick, but players and coaches should vote for these awards. Talking heads on TV and sports writers should have nothing to do with it.

  12. Why does nick always bring up LeBRONZ? Dude got on 6 All Defense teams… he hasn't been on a Defense team in almost a decade! 😂🤦‍♂️🤡

  13. Focusing on the seed stuff is a complete and utter red herring to try and change the focus from the fact that Joker has just been that much better and more important to his side than Luka has. Luka scored more points because he shot the ball a lot more, that's the difference in their counting stats (Jokic much better in rebounding obviously). Jokic is a significantly better defender and I actually think Luka is very harshly judged on that end of the court but Jokic also is for some reason. There is no noteworthy variance between the two teams (either record or talent wise) to really factor it into this.

I love Luka, he's a very worthy 2nd to Joker but this shouldn't really be a debate for anyone who actually watches and follows the sport. There's a reason that Jokic is just flat out miles ahead in every single advanced stat, some of them at genuinely historic levels. It's eye test meets statistics checking out completely. Luka has had a flat out great season, Jokic has just been greater.

Realistically the MVP race should be as boring as the ROY race, these guys are just creating narratives, like they did last year which ultimately cost Jokic a very deserved MVP, for the clicks and to talk about something.
