[Slater] Brandin Podziemski on his expectations next season: “Naturally my role will increase. I think the ball will be in my hands a little bit more. Just being more efficient, trying to take the burden off Steph and Draymond’s shoulders.” He plans to play in summer league (2:17)

  1. Both Podz & TJD playing in SL? Now I have a reason to watch this summer (well prob only the first couple games in Vegas + California Classic)

Don’t give me hope, I have boarded Cooper Flagg train

He needs to look to score more. Hes a really good shooter there’s no reason not to hunt more shots.

I think the best-case scenario for Podziemski is going to be his comfort finding outside shooting opportunities.

He brings the balls way down and then releases it low. The release isn’t super slow, but it is telegraphed, so guys can close out aggressively. If he can tweak that a little bit and get more confident firing from outside, that’s how he goes from being a glue guard to being something much more interesting.

I think he can really shoot (his season at Santa Clara was crazy), but the issue hasn’t been percentages, it’s been where he finds his opportunities.

Backup PG, get the ball more that way. Be our Malik Monk 6th man style

Crazy impressive first year for this rook. Looking forward to Podz 2.0 after the off

I really hop Podz takes a tip from Steph and Klay. Remember when they were young? Every off season, they picked one aspect of their game to truly work on, lateral quickness, handles, strength, etc. I’d like an improvement to his handles, such as to open up a little more vision while he has the ball.

If that step back three keeps developing 😮‍💨

He needs to go to “finishing at the rim camp” – he’s so crafty if he can elevate that aspect and get stuffed less it will open everything up for him. Get a few “go to” moves that aren’t hook shots in the lane.

    There’s a ton of upside here – he’s a nice player

Not convinced that Podz is not Chris Cheeze in a 6’3″ frame.

  11. He’s got the right attitude. My fear right now is the off-season. We were expected to at a minimum make the playoffs this year. We failed, miserably. FO made it clear that we’re probably going to blow it up in the off-season if we don’t make significant strides this season. I imagine everyone is on the table to deal, except Curry and probably JK.

Oye…. rough times. Regardless, looking forward to next season, even if our team is completely retooled.

A lot of potential there, but I don’t want to hear a rookie talking about getting the ball in his hands more the day after they got bullied in an elimination game. It’s also weird he’s talking like Klay’s gone and he’s next up.
