Anthony Edwards on the impact of Karl-Anthony Towns in Game 1:

“He played the game clean. He played it the right way. He defended very well, and he did everything we needed him to do. He rebounded. He spread the floor. He got to the corner. He wasn’t cutting when he didn’t need to. He did everything tonight, and like I said, to me, he’s still the reason we won. First half, I was nonexistent. He carried us on his back, so, yeah, thank you KAT.”

Everyone played within themselves and played complementary basketball the whole night. Ironically Conley was the guy who was pressing the most and trying to do too much

“Played it clean” I couldn’t have said it better. KAT not doing dumb s%*^ and playing within the offense is a huge reason we won. Frustrating thing but also reassuring thing is it’s up to him how he wants to play.

KAT was huge in that first half and his offense made the Suns play honest defense on Ant. KAT being successful and playing into the system is the key to opening up everything for us. Ant and KAT were making KD look like what everyone who doesn’t watch wolves games expected Rudy to look like in this series, absolutely unable to guard anything we threw at him

Exactly what we need from him. Efficient 20 pts a game, play good D on Durant, rebound, go at Durant in the low post and try to get him into foul trouble. Didn’t try to force much if anything, this is the KAT we need to not only to win this series but to have a shot at beating Denver.

Big part of why I missed KAT was it seemed like he’d be the one to step up when ant was invisible on offense and vice versa.

  6. It was probably the best playoff game of his career honestly. Definitely agree with the quote. KAT let the game come to him instead of trying to force it. If he can continue to do that consistently, we are going to be tough to beat.

Zen KAT paced us in the first half it was huge

The reckless drives have been nearly non-existent this whole year, it’s so refreshing to see him drive, notice the defense, and either stop on a dime or try and shimmy over.
