Except for Doncic and Kyrie the rest of the mavs squad performed like g-league players, it was abysmal. And Clippers are even missing Kawhi. So the mavs role players need to step up or this is impossible. There is no excuse to perform that badly.
If Mavs played play-in tournament I might somehow even understand this kind of poor performance… But the fact that you had 10 days rest and this is the best you could show up for… it just shows you how pathetic state of the team is and this was against clippers who didn't even have Kawhi Leonard!

Lets put that no defense nonsense to bed. This is the first time in league history that you have 3 or 4, sometimes 5 dudes on the court running offense, that can take you off the dribble, spot up, pull up, pass and board. Unless the NBA allows goon ball to return, it's near impossible to clamp up even a decent team. Your best bet is that they have an off-night or your guys can simply outscore them. Even contested shots aren't an issue. You have a guy blocking 9 shots in a game and still losing by 15. The pace, the number of actually skilled players, and them not deferring to the star player has changed the way offenses are ran. Hell, Dallas scored 8 points in the 2nd, then averaged 33.5 the next two quarters. If not for that inept run, they probably would've won.

Mavs with 33 free throws almost 20 more than Clips, no Kawhi, 20% FG on Mavs in 8 point quarter? Terrible defense, but amazing defense on Clippers especially 1st half, Tye Lue is a way better coach than Kidd, if nothing changes in the coaching/will to win and Kawhi returns in game 2, life is going to get hard for Mavs and it's fans.
