Ok. You picked the Mavs..? I picked the Clippers, and hence noticed what you didn’t – Zubac. Mavs play small ball, but that won’t work against the Clippers who can play big & small.
So when all you have is Gafford & Lively (Both undersized bigs) then that’s a mismatch Zubac can exploit each time. Also, if it’s not obvious by now, Luka has a huge disadvantage vs this team – He’s ‘not’ athletic. That’s his Achilles Heel vs them..
They are going to run Luka up & down the floor, not sure he can keep up
No one is attributing the second quarter drop off to Clips being 8-9 men deep. Dallas' roster drops off as soon as Luka/Kyrie hit the bench.

Jason I really enjoy your talk about the technical aspects of basketball. One the other hand I think some at the V needs to tutor you more on effective arguing using statistics. You need more context. Free throw differential per game is a nice place to start, but it doesn’t have enough context as to why it’s not remarkable. You need median and mode as well. Also you need more context like FT differential in wins vs losses. Probably the main reason this is an issue is to how much it seems to impact games and records.
Examples
12 game wins by 5 points or less with FT diferential greater than twice the end score difference.
The lakers are 27th with 39.4 drives a game and 11th with 7 FTA a game from those drives. The 2018-2019 Hornets were 4th with 51.4 drives a game and 2nd with 7.8 FTA a game from those drives. The difference in rank between drives and FTA from drives is the largest in the past decade.
I do agree that you got to suck it up when the game is being played, but you can’t be blind to blatant examples of favoritism seen above. Also let’s be honest the Lakers current style of basketball is horrendous to watch.

Luka holds ball 70% of the game during that 6 assist -3 turnover = +3 . for 70% of Game time denied all team the ball , played ZERO defence every penetration passed him like he was not there. 70 points probably were scored on Luka . How others can play when he rob the ball for the entire game. He is worst MAVS players by far.
