We don’t need a JV replacement, we need to get Trae Young in a trade for CJ plus picks and maybe Jose.
CJ is great but doesn’t have to play set to work well with Zion or Ingram.

I’ve been a big fan of ihart but this playoff series going to increase his price tag.
Also, did JV sign a secret extension or not?

I think he’d be a great pickup but he’d certainly command a bigger contract than JV

We can’t afford him. We have at best the full mid-level non-payer exception at $13m. That’s what other teams will likely offer him. However, the Knicks max out at $16m.
The teams with cap space to sign him to more than that have their centers (76ers, Spurs, Jazz, Pistons, Thunder).
We had Steven Adams and it wasn’t a great fit… they are similar so I’d say we could do better. I think Jarrett Allen is the best fit of those that might be available.

[He’s already on record saying if that if money is equal he wants to stay.](https://hoopshype.com/lists/knicks-isaiah-hartenstein-on-free-agency-i-love-it-here-hopefully-well-figure-something-out/)
>**Scotto:** If money is equal, you’d stay?
