Defensive lapses like that are very common and it was more shooters luck than horrible defense.

You keep saying Porzingis is in position to defend so why are the other helping him when you fail to realize Porzingis is a terrible defender and will likely foul. If they lose Porzingis to foul trouble then it’s anyone’s series. That’s why they help, to get the ball handler off him.

One aspect of this game that’s been overlooked because of the crazy shooting: the Heat held the Celtics to just 40 points in the second half

As an old and a casual fan at this point, so many of the Heat picks/screens would have been called as moving in my era. Hard to stay with you man when the screener is actively running into you.
The defense has been questionable all year, another big issue they were having is trying to play KP in a style that he can’t do. Playing at the nail you gotta attack the basket aggressively, especially when the floor is so spread at it’s basically a 1 on 1, he can’t do that. He’s a spot up shooter lol bro has zero paint presence
