Jay Williams: This DUKE LEGEND was the BIGGEST Chicago Bulls “What if”… Until Derrick Rose | FPP

He is one of the greatest Duke Blue Devils of all time, and one of the greatest NCAA point guards of all time. Jay Williams played three years for the Duke Blue Devils as one of the only freshman point guards to start for coach K. He would team with future NBA talent like Shane Battier, Carlos Boozer, Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Chris Duhon during his time at Duke. He would win three ACC tournament titles, a variety of individual awards and a National Championship in 2001. He left Duke after three years as the best player in College Basketball, and after Yao Ming was drafted 1st overall in 2002 NBA Draft, Jay Williams went #2 to the Bulls, but his rookie season wasn’t what most hoping for, however, he showed flashes and clearly had the potential, so there was still plenty of hope after one decent season. But in June 2003, he got in a serious motorcycle accident, which would end his career due to the injuries he sustained. Today he has carved a successful broadcasting career with some big name companies like ESPN, but that seems to be all he’s known for anymore. But for a brief period in the early 2000s, Jay Williams was one of the best point guards in basketball.
