Embiid imho is a soldier. If he got drafted to your team you'd have no problem rooting for him or any MVP player who's brother died, gm not putting the right players around you year after year, then getting a player like Jimmy Butler & letting him walk, playing through multiple injuries & having star teammates quit on you constantly or high-paid costars underperforming, AND bad coaching. In Philly we love Embiid as a star because he works hard & he never quit. One dirty play & people are ready to crucify him while it's a wonder why players like Grayson Allen are even in the league. I swear people will hate you for a sport & wish the grave on you, but then say they wish players weren't so friendly. As a Sixer fan I want Embiid to win a chip with any team.

Today's performance was really out of line. In the second quarter, when teammates were on fire, Embiid cooled down. Later on, he kept trying to prove himself by insisting on scoring, even when Lowry didn't give him the ball. Many times, when Lowry, who has value in controlling the ball on the court, reached out for the ball, Embiid didn't even look at him. He was too eager to prove that he could score in ways other than relying on his usual methods, but the more he played like that, the more chaotic it became, ultimately hurting the team. He kept playing a two-man game with Maxey, resulting in many turnovers. The later part of the third quarter was simply a disaster. Then, there's the substitution of Payne for Lowry in the fourth quarter. Payne managed to bring the team back, but then was targeted as a weak point and taken out, completely losing the initiative. It wasn't until the latter part of the fourth quarter when Lowry was put back in that some offensive rhythm was found again, but by then, Embiid had lost his spirit, resembling a lost dog. Despite Lowry, who possesses basketball IQ and experience, fighting for some hope, Embiid was already lost, leading to missing out on any opportunities.
