No zion no win at least we reached the playoffs

  2. afriendlyspider

Griffin pissed away every asset he got from the AD trade, people that were sounding the alarm all got screamed at

Willie is so bad man. Just don’t think the organization has the balls to pull the switch in him. Hopefully the Zion BI experiment is over and we move CJ as well, thanks Jonás for being a professional and putting up with the Willie disrespect. Soul crushing franchise altering series.

  4. One thing I know about fans in general, is the more time that passes in the offseason, the more optimistic they get and they think more of the good times and forget bad(and start making excuses).

What I learned last season at the end presser is that David Griffin does at least SOMEWHAT GET what the problems are…His main problem is when it actually comes time to make changes, he won’t pull the trigger. This offseason will be so interesting for me to see if Griffin is truly going stay this way for the long haul(in which case I hope he’d soon be gone), or if he’s actually willing to change his own flawed philosophies to at least attempt to become a possible winner.

Either way, I know come time for the start of next season, if the team is healthy to start, most people would be happy regardless of who is on the roster(even if it’s exactly the same). I just hope the people in the front office want something different for a change.

  5. Got swept. The two young guy did not play. Tanked the value of half the team. The best two players (Jonas and Naji) are the free agents. Amazing job

I think with Zion we could have stole this game and the first game. We wouldn’t have won the series, but it could have gone to 7.

All in all, this was a weird ass season. I’m glad it’s over.

  7. GatorEggs-

My mom said if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all. BI, CJ:

With that out of the way. I wish you luck playing for other teams hopefully

I’m excited to see what Herb Trey Zion and Hawk can do after an offseason working out, also I hope Dyson gets resurrected or released from jail or whatever’s going on. I hope we keep naji as well. This draft class isn’t particularly loaded so I don’t mind that we missed the lottery and pick 14 just to beat the kings and go 6-0 vs them. I’d be okay with Willie staying as long as there are shakeups to the roster, mostly because we extended him and Idk if Gayle isn’t gonna pay 2 coaches again like she did with SVG. Running it back again when other teams are clearly slated to improve this offseason would be the dumbest thing of all time. See you guys around draft time

Shout out to Jonas. He played every game, was always consistent, and never seemed to get down with a limited role.

It is bittersweet that this was likely his last game in a Pelicans uniform. He is an incredible player, and deserves a good contract on a contender. Wishing him the best in whatever is next, cause absent a HC change I doubt he is retained.

    The fans love you JV!

  9. maejor_ced

The importance of a healthy Zion was on full display this series. Griff work your magic and move some guys, bring in others.

  10. NeedAnotherWorldWar

From 4th in the west to a play-in loss to the lakers and losing Zion after putting up 40… The end of this season was gut wrenching.

  11. Working-Airline-6745

Y’all know BI dropping 40 on us next season right?

  12. realignant

Lmao wtf Willie, run some plays, no half court sets, no lineup change, no counters whatsoever. This roster was carried by talent, get a rim running big who can stretch the floor and a real pg.

  13. Sayntsfan21

The Pels may need to consult with the Archdiocese PR team on how to handle this molestation by OKC

  14. Skinnieguy

I rather BI sit, Bucks sat both of their stars. Probably the same outcome with CJ chucking the ball 30 times. Now im sad cus I really loved BI and now the entire offseason I’ll think of this terribly played series.

  15. World-Nomad

One of the big differences between our team and theirs, is ball handling. They can get past defenders and create shots. Their whole squad can do this. We don’t have anyone that can do this.

  16. RealAlexJonesTM

Willie is up there talking like he just lost a pre-season tournament, is he aware that we just got humiliatingly swept in the playoffs on international tv?

  17. PattMatricia

BI is very gone. Just have to shake things up

  18. Pikachude123

Welp, first team to get knocked out doesn’t feel good but at least we styled on the kings this season

  19. JayDogon504

First off generationally bad series from my dawg Ingram but it happens. Dort earned every bit of that reputation. You still can’t tell me this isn’t a real series if Zion played. Our defense against them was really impressive for the most part. And I hate Josh Giddey with all my soul. It was 80-80 and Mannie Fresh came out at what seemed to be the perfect time but apparently Giddey is a Cash Money stan cuz from that point on he couldn’t miss. That wasn’t the ending anybody wanted but at least I had fun along the way. Griff got a lot on his plate and it’s gonna be very interesting to see what he does with it

  20. Gamez6444

I’m setting myself up for disappointment hoping for big changes. But I know deep down that they will run it back minus JV and we will get a repeat.

  21. amadea_saoirse

Willie in the post-game conference still preaches locker room vibes. This guy is still going on about vibes.

  22. Creative-Ad-5257

I hated the Cj trade the day we did it. Zion was hurt, there was no point in even trying to force ourselves in the playoffs that year. What truly broke me was the 3yr/$30+mil extension we gave him. I fucking hate David Griffin

  23. Additional-Maize1960

Giddey was pretty handsy that game, must’ve forgotten how old our players were

  24. troxieselect

The audacity to raise season ticket prices. Keep this place empty til they get players that want to play

  25. the_cream_dreamer

Fun season yall. Terrible last 3 weeks but overall fun. Hopefully lots of changes are coming. Willie isn’t it and BI has to go. I’d also like to see CJ go and resign Naji if possible.

  26. Bummer to end the year like this. Injuries the great equalizer… Kudos to the thunder for outplaying us and best of luck to them

  27. MathiTheCheeze

We need a soft reset to rejuvenate our lineup. I’d love to keep Brandon, but it makes so much more sense moving him on and going with a core of Herb-Trey-Zion.

Sadly I don’t think there is a big market for Brandon, there’s obviously gonna be a lot of teams interested in him, but I think we would struggle with getting an adequate player that aligns with the core of Herb-Trey-Zion, in regards to both age and quality. There’s also not a lot of teams that could go in for Brandon and negotiate a longer term deal, who have assets they’d be willing to part with and that would be a great fit to the core. There’s only a few teams I see that can realistically offer us somewhat worthwhile packages for BI (Houston, Knicks, Pistons)

As for CJ, I just want him to get moved. I doubt he’s got much value left and I would genuinely be happy with salary filler. My dream scenario would be CJ + some picks for Myles Turner and Ben Sheppard, I think the Pacers are the only team that could get a net positive value out of CJ.

  28. RaginRealtor

Only thing that will make this better is the Lakers getting stomped tonight.

  29. Julep2005

Like others have said this has been a fun season, all I can do is try to look at the good parts and not the end, we saw some players truly break out from Zion finally seeming to have figured things out and even start expanding his game finally to Herb getting a much better 3 to even hawk balling out when Willie let him. There’s still a lot to come from this franchise if the org is willing to make it. But time will tell, see yall next year

  30. troxieselect

I’m just sad seeing all these teams like min, NY, okc even ind making moves and having bright futures. While we’re just stuck in the play in year after year.

  31. Lord_Skeletor74

The last month or so has been so fucking brutal as a fan, man. That being said, the season had its ups and downs, but it was pretty fun overall.

See you next season, boys. I love y’all (and JV if this was your last game in a Pels uni).

  32. Vince3737

Well, the good thing about BI being gone this summer is we won’t have to deal with his annoying fake Pels fans Stan’s saying dumb shit like “BI is the true leader of this team”

  33. weird_veil

Pels can’t hurt me anymore for 6 months !!!

  34. The_Fatherland

fourth game of the playoff, and it was 3-0 to the thunder, and CJ said:

‘Guys, if you think we are good, let’s prove it now’. 3-4 series win”

    “did we comeback?”

    “of course not. 4-0”
