Gus is far and beyond my favorite announcer and I wish he did more Cavs games.

Gus Johnson is a peak commentator. I get he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but he’s had so many amazing calls over the years. His CFB calls are always classic.

I’m just here to say the slight adjustment Mobley made when Wagner beat him with his first step is damn near unbelievable. Lesser defenders stay with Wagner’s body, half a step late, and foul, possibly allowing the and 1. Mobley cut his pursuit hard, altering the angle of his second step by maybe 20, 30 degrees to his right, briefly allowing Wagner to separate, but closed at the rim and got a no doubt, clean ass block. That is some next level rim protection that potentially saved this series for us. I hope the full roster churn doomers took note.

Did anyone notice the multiple references he made to Joe Tait calls during the game? That was a nice touch by him. I loved hearing his call last night

I love when Gus does Buckeye games and his nickname for “Maserati” Marvin Harrison Jr. Me and my friends kept saying “Mazzzzerattttiii” all last season

I saw a lot of folks saying Wagner should have dunked it or just used his left hand but when you look at that backboard angle you realize he didn’t have the angle to do either of those things. Only way he could have finished that was with his right but Mobley was right there.

The only thing that could have made that Gus call better is he just screamed out after the block:

I was a little bit annoyed with him up until that last call. It felt like he was actively rooting for Orlando, but that’s probably just my homerism and being accustomed to AC and Brad’s commentary. Honestly, anyone who isn’t Hubie Brown is ok by me.
