Amongst the list of atrocious things Darvin Ham has done to warrant being fired, where does not playing Christie rank?

Im not pretending like Christie was some mini version of Klay Thompson and not playing him is what caused us to fall flat on our faces, but all the talks of injuries while having a kid who can develop into a solid 3 and D guy, just doesn’t make sense why Ham wouldn’t utilize him.

Honestly it’s definitely a negative, we’ve missed out on some development for him, for sure. But it’s a minor issue compared to some of the shit

Ham had a half a season love affair with Cam Reddish that pushed everyone down the depth chart.

  3. More copium, chill. Christie aint making a difference in that Denver series no matter how much the fanbase likes dude

Hopefully play him next season. 20 minutes a night and try develop him in to a KCP type player. High level defence and 38%+ from 3

I think with how outspoken he is maybe he is one of the people talking to the media. That is the only logical reason besides his next contract that Ham did not play him more.

I’d love to see him get SF minutes next year

  7. Gods_Right_Toe

I’m more upset that we didn’t give him the opportunity to grow as much.

Yeah where as Mike Malone rewarding Braun and Watson

I think its right at the top. He could justifying throwing games this season by developing players, but instead he gave Christie inconsistent minutes and then gave Spencer and Vincent undeserved playoff minutes. Christie could have been a big help on Porter, who was their most consistent threat. Hate to see young talent being wasted. I am sure Lebron does not like his lack of confidence, he is a smart player, just a little indecisive. Bet if he was with Kerr or Pop he would be a rising star.

My boy Max couldn’t even get minutes in the post game interview, they asked bro one question and told him to bounce. smh

Christie is not even that good, but it was insane to not give him a few minutes when Rui/Dinshittie/Gabe provided virtually zero offense. At least he’s an ok rebounder with fresh legs

very high. reddish was given bias to start the season, darvin let him struggle through his mistakes, when max was playing good his minutes would be lackluster. 6’5 guard, really good rebounder, 40% catch and shoot player, quick feet and good defender. every team in the league would want him and hes 21 years old.

  13. Considering what we desperately needed all series was another good defensive rebounder who could hit open 3 and could navigate screens in chasing Michael porter jr. I would say that this serried was built for max. U can’t just play him in the playoffs after benching him for 2 months. But everyone’s asking what we needed. The theoretical guy rotted on our bench after being inexplicably behind cam in the rotation from the start. Gave Vincent was out all year. There is no legit reason why Watson and braun were playing and max isn’t. They’re more athletic but max is already a more polished product than either of them

I don’t get the hard one for max Christie by this sub. Dude is…eh? He’s not horrible but not remarkable either, definitely not a playoff rotational player.

The truth is that in the playoffs, coaches tighten their rotation and he wasn’t a part of it. It’s happened to better players. Not saying I agree with it.

My opinion is the front office wanted to devalue Christie. I feel like they instructed Ham not to play him. Either that or Ham is truly an idiot. Tough to say.

  17. hausitron

I’m convinced he was trying to tank Christie’s value so it’s easier to resign him next season.

  18. LudwigNasche

He didn’t get much playing time after that game Ham had to bring the starters back because the 3rd stringers let the other team come back and Max was somewhat the leader of this squad. I may be wrong about that, but after that I haven’t seen Max anymore.

  19. Background_Nature_32

Fireable offense imo. Coaching malpractice. Yet he continued playing Dindwiddie with no type of production. Atleast Vogel wasn’t stubborn like this dumb fuck Hamas.

  20. GlassOnion25

He should’ve gotten dinwiddie minutes. Dinwiddie should’ve been an injury reserve for the playoffs

  21. xxxhotpocketz

I like Max Christie, I think he’s solid but I’m not sure he could handle Murray. I think he has potential though and I like that he was ready to play if needed

  22. SpudzNBudzInc

doesnt matter at all christie shot 35% from 3 and 42% overall those aren’t number that warrant automatic playtime

  23. niknokseyer

Definitely a waste of talent (and development). F*ck Ham for that.

  24. shiiroyasha_

Christie would’ve had that fearless underdog energy

  25. swooshi_mrt

definitely could’ve contributed defensively this past series and overall this season. ham had atrocious line ups.. could’ve played christie in placement of spencer or even reddish. he’s a young guy who great athleticism. hope he gets more minutes next season
