This Was GENIUS…

This video looks at the Minnesota Timberwolves and why they are absolutely genius for building their lineup around Anthony Edwards with length and Athleticism like Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert

  1. Gobert won't guard Jokic. KAT will guard Jokic, Rudy will guard Gordon. this takes AG out of the dunker's spot where he's a huge threat, capitalizing off feeds from Joker, and allows Rudy to patrol the paint more as the Wolves ain't gon be concerned about Gordon's shooting. KAT is weirdly not the worst defender matched with Jokic, even before the great jump he's made on that end this year – he ain't gon stop him, but nobody can. it's Jokic, he's the best in the world. KAT does a decent job doing what you can tho.

Murray, historically, is a problem. this year, he's playing through a calf (iirc) injury, but he's still a huge threat. he'll see a rotating rogue's gallery of Minnesota's best perimeter defenders. NAW, Ant, Big Mac – they'll keep showing him different defenders to keep him from getting too comfortable. i wouldn't be surprised if Finch switches schemes a lot too to try & disrupt Denver's rhythm as much as possible, like how they moved to zone during Phoenix's non-Nurkic minutes.

never count out Denver, they're the defending champ's for a reason, but they've shown weakness this year. they've lost depth – the weak bench has been a problem for them and the Phoenix series shows that this is something that the Wolves will take advantage of. i like Minny's odds tbh.

  2. i would have kat on joker and have rudy roaming around the paint while staying close to AG. jaden on murry, ant on kpj, mike on kcp. booom Alexender on murry if we sub out jaden. D jordan coming in for joker will be a problem on the board if we sub out rudy. damn THis will be a good ass match up in a long time no bap.

  3. finally someone noticed, wingspan of this team is nuts and the pressure pays off because getting beat of the dribble funnels to DPOY

  4. Easy! Get a guy who is great at scoring and defending, you know MJ like. Then get the best defensive big. Find 2 elite 3&D lengthy wings with dog mentality in D. Find 2 bigs that shoot 3s at 40% but can also drive. Then get a veteran PG who has the ability to lead on and off the court. Don't forget a coach who is good both in his Xs and Os but also nurturing these young fellas.
And there you have it, the Wolves way of building a team.
    Easy eh?

  5. Excellent breakdown. Pumped for this series even more now. Both teams have guys who rise in the key moments. We’ll be seeing some hero shots for sure

  6. I actually looked up their team wingspan in preseason and it blew my mind…Length and quickness. They cover ground in a hurry.

  7. Man as a Minnesota resident and a wolves fan I appreciate you appreciating the value of our defense against elite teams. Thanks for talking about what we did instead of talking about what the other teams not doing like we ain’t shit. Appreciate you 🤝🏾
