Boston Celtics Mailbag: Jayson Tatum attacking, Joe Mazzulla credit, & funniest moment

With some time off before the next series, we open up the mailbag for answers about Jayson Tatum attacking the rim by rolling after picks, giving Joe Mazzulla credit, and a bad sports town in Miami. John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal has all that, a look at how postgame interviews work, and then his favorite/funniest moments of the season.

  1. My favorite game of the season was Celtics Vs Twolves in Boston! Epic! The Jaylen Brown interview after he threw an alley to Sam Hauser was hilarious “we made eye contact, that was all the confirmation I needed and I said F it!” 😂😂😂

  2. Ime unlocked Rob Williams and Pritchard before becoming Crypto P.

Ime destroyed the 3 teams who defeated us for the past playoffs games (one the craziest runs going to the Finals, we just fell short)

  3. I listen to this to help me sleep and then I listen to it again in the morning. I wonder if we lose in the second round would we trade Jaylen Brown? Maybe for the younger more consistent Trae Young( most under rated all star)?

  4. Detractors like to conflate Ime's achievements to trash Mazzulla because of personal reasons. The C's under Udoka swept the Nets, took 7 games to dispatch the Bucks and the Heat to finally flame out against GS. That's not as dominant as these people make it appear. Also, the much vaunted defense under Udoka was actually credited to his then assistant Joe Mazzulla according to an interview with Malcolm Brogdon.

Stop the hate. Joe was a big reason for Ime's success. You can dislike him as a person but his positive impact on the team is undeniable and is attested to by his players, even the ones who are no longer here.

  5. Cleveland is closer, so easier in terms of travel, but kinda funny if we knock out two florida teams in the span of two weeks.

  6. אני מקווה ששחקני הסלטיקס לא צופים בסרטון הזה

  7. Unfortunately, every podcast now is blah blah blah blah blah no analysis no insight no nothing come on John stop being complacent

  8. The miami series was more about the celtics showing that the spo defensive traps and tricks that plagued them for years just do not work any more. They have learned to use the gravity they attract to pick apart traps and double teams. Going against a champion head coach round one can not be understated, regardless of the lobsided talent level. Both teams fully healthy Cs still probably win in 5

  9. Mazz is the right coach for the C's. He has a steady hand on this team.
Does anyone remember the Reggie Miller/ Spike Lee trash talk battles of the 90's!😂

Life is good in the NBA right now.

  10. Yes, Joe is doing a good job, but they’re going to say the only reason why he’s doing good is because of the talent

  11. i always find it funny how the same people who constantly scrutinize Joe dont say a peep about imes terrific scheme in the finals to play drop coverage on the greatest shooter in NBA history talk about no adjustments

  12. John Cs are in bing trouble ahead…..if Tatum and brown don’t elevate their play and more importantly without big bodies to defend the basket there is no way they will go far…..how this Cs team can beat the knicks?…. This team still has major issues and without KP are in big troubles….

  13. Things are looking good for Boston?… where did you see that? Because we. Won the falling apart Miami team without butler?

  14. Haven't even started listening yet but Im here for giving Joe all the credit in the world. The haters are just finding ways to be mad at this point and its so obvious

  15. I think people forget that the Ime team also messed around in the playoffs, shooting themselves in the foot. Shouldn't have gone 7 against the Bucks or the Heat and should have won the championship.

  16. I'm NOT going to give Joe credit for doing something he was supposed to do, beat a depleted 8th seed. The Cs are stacked with talent winning a ton of regular season games is a given. He is what he is, a Div II coach who still needs to work on in-game adjustments and calling timeouts.
