Shams – “There is a natural inclination to target a replacement who possesses the qualities the previous coach lacked. That means finding someone who can command & hold the respect of the locker room, optimize lineups & the rotation, hold himself accountable publicly, & manage timeouts & challenges”

so looks like the fan base was right the whole damn time.

    -mostly a motivational speaker

    -terrible rotations

    -zero “my bad”

-terrible at timeouts and challenges (hands in pocket)

  2. Is that JJ though? He seems more like yes man for Lebron, who didn’t respect AD as defender in his podcast. Vogel had most of these qualities, but we are not bringing him back.

  3. Linearization

Lol – so pretty much just what a good coach should be? Reminds me that draft picture with Josh Giddey’s weaknesses of shooting, defense, athleticism, etc. that pretty much just encompassed basketball

  4. So he basically validated almost every aspect of what lakers have been crying about the last 2 years!

To add to the list his poor game planning and in game adjustment.

It looks like they are looking for a coach 😂 all those qualities are a must have, not something you should lack if you’re an NBA HC.

  6. Fuckthebeard

So basically a real coach is what they want

  7. Prolapse_leakage

Went from Westbrick to the coaching version of westbrick. Multiple years wasted on this bs.

The fact these are the qualities Ham lacked is hilarious. What other fucking qualities are there? Oh he can’t command respect from players, he can’t manage rotations, he sucks at time outs… 😂

  9. Yommination

So all the things a coach should do, got it. The last one was a defective model that was only good at excuse making

  10. Klaxosaur

Holy fuck. That’s what we’ve been wanting lmaooo.

  11. CabbageStockExchange

So a basic head coach? Lmao Ham was soooo ass

  12. deathinmidjuly

Throwing in “someone who could manage timeouts” is pretty hilarious.

  13. Greedy_Nectarine_233

These seem like the basic requirements for a coach of any kind lol

  14. # hold himself accountable publicly, & manage timeouts & challenges

this line can win us minimum 8 more regular season games.

  15. ImprovementFancy1130

So basically, he lacked almost all qualities of a good head coach.

I’ll say it again. if the front office KNEW Ham was failing at ALL OF THIS – why not fire him right away? Mid season. Give Phil Handy a chance. He was sitting right there. For free!!

This is another indictment of the Lakers org. Failure to act.

  17. That Shams quote is hilarious. So in other words, we’re looking for someone who can actually…coach a team. Fucking lol!

  18. I like how all of these qualities are just natural things you’d want a coach to be good at lmao.
