  1. Im super cool with Wood returning but we need a defensive big next to him to so we can at least dominate the rebound game for the bench

  2. Oscar_322418

I don’t mind him coming back. Wood and TP are good pieces to have off the bench the only issue is that he shouldn’t be the only playable backup big we have. We need a big that can hold his own against other centers or at least during the minutes that AD is off the floor. That should be priority number one this offseason, get a center that can let AD slide back to the 4.

“Wish I wasn’t hurt for a majority of the season”

    Lakers role player standard quote

  4. Good. He had some nice moments and is a talented player at a low price.

  5. LoveTheHustleBud

Idk what other choice he has. No team was offering him money last summer and he didn’t really improve his value this year

  6. Bahamut727

Spencer Max Prince Rui Wood is a helluva bench

  7. GoalPublic3579

Honestly that’s good news if he’s coming back on that contract. He’s a potential bucket off the bench. Pleased he’s coming back.

  8. Klaxosaur

I expect him and Gabe to have bounce back seasons next year

  9. UglyForNoReason

This is great. Dude has serious offensive potential and has proven it. Hopefully he can stay healthy and the new coach actually knows how to utilize him

  10. ChunkyMilkSubstance

Idk if it was bcus he was hurt for a lot of the year but I liked him and thought he seemed like a chill guy

  11. Wondering_Nova

I’m excited for him to return! He’s a solid backup scoring option. If we can get someone else to play defense behind AD we can have a 3 headed center rotation with AD/Woods/Defensive minded big. We would be able to throw different looks at teams. AND a competent coach will get the most out of Woods even if it’s only on the offensive end.

Super happy to hear this news

  12. Wood is legit. He played good defense and spaced the floor for us. I have no quarrels with him opting him.

  13. So dumb how many DNPs he had because of that fraud

  14. CrazyDaylight8

I like his fit next to AD but they never played much together. Hope to see him back

  15. No-Equipment-20

That’s great news to be honest. We were having solid success with AD/Wood lineups before his injury and he’s good value on a minimum.

Honestly hope we give Prince the slight bump and keep him too. He’s a solid value player for $5M

Badically all the vet min PO guys should opt in because they didn’t show enough to get a contract elsewhere. So Hayes Wood Reddish all should be coming back

Maybe if a trash team offers them a starting role, but otherwise they’d be dumb to turn down 2.5 mil to play in LA.

  17. He proved a lot to me this year. I thought he was going to come in and half ass it and get cut but he showed up and showed out when he could. Hope he heals up and levels up his game for round 2

  18. Wood being an above average defender but a nucleur black hole on offense was off but hopefully he finds his shot again

  19. Illustrious-Fig6819

I’m glad he’ll be back. I feel like we never really got to see what he could be on this team.

  20. Minute-Seesaw205

Definitely don’t mind him coming back. He’s still a good rebounder. Still need bigs.

  21. GoodbyeToAWorld-

Anyone hating on this is dumb. He is such a high upside player and if we get a coach that actually knows how to play people/run plays/unlock them based on their game, he could be an absolute killer for us next season off the bench

The one thing this year that made me not like bringing him on was his defensive effort, but he showed us this season, that he can play some awesome defense and shut people down. Him and AD worked well together, imo. He isn’t the solution to finding someone to work with AD, but in short bursts it can be amazing playing them together

  22. anaaakinnn

Idk why he-who-must-not-be-named didn’t play him. He’s a solid big and was great on the rockets.

  23. swaggyho123

Maybe a new coach will put him in a better position to succeed with a consistent role and PT

  24. Miserable-Lawyer-233

sure. I mean if he left they would just have to find another big like him (a shooter) so, okay.

  25. Ok_Concentrate_75

He would be great playing off a traditional defensive minded Center…not at center Rob!

  26. CabbageStockExchange

I’m down. He’s not bad but we need more pieces

  27. fastlikeanascar

Does him being under contract with us for two years give us his bird rights? If he has a decent year, we might even be able to retain him?

  28. I’m cool with it. I think he has more to prove barring any injury

  29. Even-Brain-3973

Could have really used him in the series against the nuggets but honestly ham was gonna spam that 3-4guard lineup regardless. Excited to see these guys with a new coach
