I love Russ and I hope he plays with us again next year 🤞🏻

  2. comicroyal

If we play Russ over Bones next season I’m gonna flip(and not in a cool way)

  3. giraffe_yogurt

This is definitely in response to law Murray and Sam Amick claiming that russ did not volunteer to go to the bench and was rather forced.

Murray and Amick have always been against russ and always throw shade at him in their articles, especially after Harden arrived. Anyone who reads their articles on The Athletic knows what I’m talking about.

It’s silly that people jumped on the report of individuals that are clearly biased against russ and wanna ignore the multitude of reports from far more credible sources such as Woj, Chris Haynes. Bleacherreport, etc that explicitly stated that he volunteered to go to the bench. Shit, Joey Linn quite literally did an article about this in the middle of the season, and showed that Russ was more than happy to sacrifice.

The people who believed that Amick and Murray report are the same people who think the “vampire” report from the lakers is accurate😂😂

  4. Welcome back with open arms… just shoot a little less and we are good.

Someone needs to lock him in a gym and not let him out till he develops a corner 3 ball.

  6. SheenEstevezzz

His jump shooting was awful this series but his leadership and energy all season was the shit we needed cus neither Kawhi nor PG are up to the task of being the vocal leader seemingly

Russ get pg to.sign on a minimum and harden too. Also, If I can back batum and a solid switchable poa defender IL be happy

  8. anaheim_fan

At the end of the day he wants to be here. Don’t know if the same can be said about PG.

  9. Adorable-Physics-782

Law Murray said Russ didn’t “volunteer” to come off the bench from day 1. This was not new.

Any reason Russ didn’t take responsibility for his performance which was the worse in 50 years in his post?

Thought the reports weren’t matching up with what we saw throughout the season. These NBA “Journalists” have no shame

I love Russ and I hope he stays but the snakes that have slithered out on this sub to crap on Russ has been sad to see. Not saying he had a good series or anything but Is it possible for people to have an honest conversation about his role on the team?

There’s no reason why he can’t get minutes when Harden is stinking it up and not playing D in games 5/6 and when he’s in he needs to be a point guard. There’s not a logical explanation to why Amir was running sets at any point when Russ was on the floor. It’s not good basketball man, he’s proven on this squad last season, the start of this year and multiple more times throughout the season, there is no reason especially with Kawhi out that we shouldn’t have leaned on Russ more. And I know that Ty wasn’t down for it but FO has taken control so many times during his tenure that his hands were tied.

Russ is my fav player and has been for 10 years. He needs to focus this off season on developing a much more consistent inside game. He will never be able to shoot and we know that, but he should be able to make layups. Get in the gym and practice your finishing. Pure simple layups. Also attempt to get some touch on the jumper but we know what’s gonna happen

  13. Fluid_Worldliness_53

As much as he frustrates me, I can’t hate this dude bruh.

He coulda went the PJ route but didn’t. In his case its a tough role to play. Especially given how the past 2 seasons were a roller coaster going from otb to getting to start and finally have shit looking upwards for u teams in a good vibe well balanced.  Then Harden comes and shits thrown for a loop.

Harden and Russ played together but at diff times when Harden was a 6th man in OKC and 2nd when Harden was in his prime dropping 30 in his sleep and Russ was an an all star. Times have changed also Kawhi and PG who can shoot off ball and move off ball but need the rock too. So clearly he was the odd man out. I thought he was better as a starter putting things together on both ends and really liked the starting line up with Roco. But credit to him for adapting even tho its a weird role to be spot played with no definitive position. Given how Harden plays most of the game with the ball so any time Russ would have to be the pg would be very minuscule.

He didnt have a great series but we’re definitely not the 4th seed without Russ

  16. GlueGuy00

Wouldn’t mind Russ back for the minimum next season

  17. sodasofasolarsora

Reasonable and nuanced. Just don’t take the media or social media personal Russ

  18. TorontoRaptors34

U can say what u want bout Russ PG or Harden but at the end of the day when ur best player is always outta action its not fair for those guys.

  19. AmuseDeath

We’re in a hole sure, but let’s try and make best of what we have. Russ is taking very low pay to be on the team. Next year, we just have to have Kawhi ready in the playoffs.

  20. JohnWicksPenciI

I love this lil dude, and yes he’s WILD AF at times and needs to practice on his SOFT touch when shooing in the offseason, but he actually has heart and that’s ONE THING you can’t teach since it’s something that Kawhi, PG, and Harden severely lack so I’ll fw Russ until he retires and as a Clippers fan for 30+ years he’ll always have my respect.

Honestly idc if we trade Kawhi and don’t even resign PG and Harden at this point, while giving Russ the Keys to the Ship next Season, because at least that would be damn entertaining to watch, unlike what we’ve seen recently, but I’ll pull for this team regardless, while hoping in the back of my mind that playing at and sharing Staples/Crypto with the Lakers is what’s truly held this franchise back, because the Clippers and Ballmer deserve Their Own Arena.

Lastly we made it further then a HEALTHY Suns or Lakers team, and without our number 1 option yet again, so that’s gotta count for something yn Guys 🤷‍♂️❤🙏✌.

  21. He’s not the player he was obviously, but I hope he can stay a part of the Clippers org in some capacity after he retires whenever that is.

He might not have a ring, but he has made a diff in so many people’s lives. He been huge on the communities where he’s played.

  22. Happy-Cauliflower-22

He’s a nice guy but goodbye to him. He’s literally unplayable in the playoffs. Send him elsewhere.
