  1. If you were to ask most Celtics fans “what do you think was the defining image/moment of the 2008 team?” I’d bet most of them would immediately say KG’s “anything’s possible!” which is a totally valid answer.

But in my opinion, it’s Paul Pierce laying on the floor, pumping his fist with the ball under his other arm.

It just encapsulates that entire team; stacked to the damn rafters with talent, yet they were still the hardest workers on the floor night-in night-out, and what better way to demonstrate that than with the all-NBA Captain (who had scored 39 points up to that point) out-hustling Lebron to ice the game/series?

Can’t count on the Magic for nothing. My older brother (who I see maybe once a year if lucky) lives in Orlando, so we made plans to catch one of the C’s away games if they managed to pull it off. Oh well, hopefully our boys absolutely destroy them for ruining a potential family reunion.

Crazy that a three point lead under a minute in 2008 was considered monumental….

I never realized just how little effort Lebron put into this play. No box out on Pierce at all, inexcusable. Obviously he learned from that but sheesh

When people question how good pierce was. I tell them to watch this game.

  6. 2008 Celtics but broadcast looks like it was 1986.

Had to go pretty far back for a series win vs. the Cavs huh.
