If Orlando is serious about paying Klay he’s probably gone. I don’t think he can start here anymore and I don’t think Klay wants to come off the bench.

  2. Zachary_Stark

If these assclowns can’t name their sources with shit like this, they shouldn’t say it.

My money is, “I’m told, ” means, “I told myself.”

  3. coco_copagana

honestly, that’s perfect for klay and magic.

They need a vet who has playoff experience and can still somewhat play.
Klay can still do what he does, Paolo and Franz can absorb all the knowledge from Klay.

it’ll be sad, but if it does happen, I still hope he reitres as a Warrior.

Sidenote: I also think Dray would be perfect for OKC

If the Magic offers more than 25 mil/year, then he’s gone. Anything more than 20 is pushing it.

  5. Gothichand

If Klay really wants that bag I don’t blame him but just adding Klay ain’t gonna help the Magic. Klay needs a top tier facilitator to pass him, I’m sorry but Suggs ain’t that guy~ Also, going to a totally new team full of kids a decade younger than you…I don’t know man~

  6. violent_knife_crime

Guys down in orlando can’t shoot. They probably want Klay more as a shooting coach

  7. justinothemack

Dubs paid him 80m for two seasons to rehab when they didn’t have to. I’m pretty sure klay will show some loyalty to the dubs for less like the dubs showed it to him.

  8. Jicama-Smart

I mean, if he wants to leave, then he should leave. Probably better for both parties.

  9. neo9027581673

Looks promising for both parties; Klay and the Magic.

  10. Asheraddo98

It’s going to feel strange seeing Klay in a different jersey

  11. carterty0117

He gone. He can sail to the Bahamas on the weekends lol

  12. All i heard is that the magic need a vet point guard hmmmm

  13. vihang_wagh

Given how they played in Game 7 (if no true star wants to come there), they might even give Klay a vanvleet-like 2/75 with 2nd year partially guaranteed or non-guaranteed. They get him off the books before they have to pay someone and klay is crazy enough to believe that he’ll do good enough that they’ll pick up the option

  14. alusnova415

The magic are up and coming and they need a vet guard , makes sense . Thank you Klay for everything 4 chips you will always be a warrior.

Guys no need to hate on our 3 legends once they move on . Let’s thank them 4 chips is nothing to scoff at, look at other failed experiments like PG and Leonard, Lebron only 1 chip in LA, Gianni 1 chip, KD, Booker, Harden, Westbrook and CP3Bust 0 chips, etc etc while Curry still here, we might not win again but I will never forget these last 12 years .

Shams only repeats what agents feed him, he’s not plugged in like Woj. I believe none of what he reports.

  16. Good. I’m tired of this nostalgia act. The dubs need to move on.

  17. This will be our Tony Parker to Charlotte.

At least Klay can be in a city that’s relatively close to a port so he can take his boat and go warm water fishing.

  18. Youngandidiotic

No matter where Klay goes we’ll still love him. Klay plus the Magic would be a pretty fun team. I can see Klay thriving there, taking all the young guys and old man Joe on his boat

  19. swiftycent

This seems standard negotiation tactics. He has value despite people acting like he was gonna be out of the league last year after the slow start.

He might not get his top value here but he’s going to get the best offer the warriors can muster and for what it’s worth…I don’t think Klay leaves his warriors tenure ending like that.

    Gonna be a wild summer.

  20. nghbrhd_slackr87

Let’s be really real about it. Klay is a MLE player everything factored in. We are just too nostalgic to know better. When the kings saw Klay starting on that Tuesday night play-in they knew it was curtains for the dubs.

Tbh. Can we just say hes old and Kerrs dynasty loyalty and klays ego needing to be managed are things a mediocre squad just doesn’t need. We gotta reshape the culture of the organization and hold people accountable… and we can’t handout legacy minutes and money anymore to just get worse every year. The difference between him and Moody/Podz both sides of the floor factored in isn’t much… I really think it’s time to move on.

Love the guy but he was just alright at his best this year… as well as being OUTRAGEOUSLY inconsistent. It was a mood swing season and it’s time for fresh starts all the way around. It’s def time.

  21. Shamanboi408

it just feels wrong imagining klay on any other team for me ngl

  22. I’m told (***by my sources at the Orlando Magic***) there is mutual interest between the Magic and Klay Thompson.”

  23. FeelTheRealBirdie

If Klay leaves that means it’s officially over right?

  24. sloppymcgee

Some of these comments are insensitive af. “Tired of this nostalgic act” wtf. They won the championship two seasons ago. This fanbase could chill a little bit. Thank you Klay, get your bag

  25. TrueEclecticism

I would totally root for the Magic if Klay went there. I really like their young team and Paolo!

I don’t think he’ll go unless Warrior offers him something disrespectful.

  26. Personal-Selection71

Gonna pay him all that money for him to score 0 points in an important game?

  27. stayfrosty

Expected agent driven leaks. Happens every single year. I would take everything you read with a huge grain of salt. There is no news here. Klay’s team is trying to up his value. Is it possible Klay leaves for Orlando…sure. Probable? No. Every year people seem to forget how the Warriors treat their free agents. Especially legendary ones. They will sign him.

  28. wubiwuster

I don’t understand the “mutual” interest. Does Klay actually want to leave or is it more that he wants a starting role?

  29. gunnerwrx

The Magic need to pay Suggs and Wagner after 24-25, and Paolo after 25-26. I don’t doubt the Magic’s “interest” in Klay but they are definitely not interested in signing a 35-yo Klay for any longer than 2 seasons. They might give him $25-$30M 1st year, and ~$25M 2nd year for ~$55M/2, maybe with a 3rd year team option.

The Warriors will happily pay him $40M/2 as long as they can stay below 2nd apron, just so he can retire a Warrior never wearing another uniform.

Let’s face it, if Klay leaves because he can make ~$10M more over the next 2-3 seasons, after making $266M from us, and us giving him $190M *after* he got injured, it is what it is but just says as much about him as a person and his priorities.
