I saw the comments by Jimmy Butler and it’s just sour grapes & empty posturing. Given the history between Pat Riley & NY, there’s not exactly any great love for him here, but he’s quite right in this case. If you’re not on the court to back it up then it’s just a bunch of hot air. Blah blah blah. No, you would not beat these Knicks — even without Julius Randle. And no, you would not have defeated the Celtics either. The Heat still would have gone fishing. They maybe would have extended things by one more game at best. In fact I would have been willing to put money on that. If Jimmy & The Heat are so great then why are they seemingly playing with fire by consistently falling into a play-in spot year over year instead of securing a top 6 seed? They may have gotten lucky catching lightning in a bottle once but to rely on that happening again? And this putzing around in the regular season and not taking care of business? Just plain foolish.
