Selecting players in the draft allows us to pay 3 mid guards 78 million combined yay!

  2. Sad-Dragonfly-4016

That Herro contract ages worse by the day

  3. Esjay_954

Putting yourself in a situation where you could potentially be paying 3 overlapping guards 78m in one year is hilarious

    Top tier roster construction.

  4. Femmefailure

Jesus christ tyler making that much is so bad man

  5. Dull_Marsupial1971

Ik Herro contract is rough but Duncan’s has aged the worst

God damn I don’t get our obsession with white guards who shoot: Herro, Duncan, TJ

the value of selecting more role players for bam to inevitably carry when they let Jimmy walk for nothing

at least they’ll finally be bad enough to pick in the top 5

if they have their pick that year

Those rookie contracts are getting more and more important as the NBA adds more penalties for spending a lot.

With all the various incentives to stay with a team that’s drafted you, the NBA is basically solidifying tanking.

Just horrible asset management. Jimmy is a part time player, Herro hasn’t improved since that nasty contract, and Duncan is still a bit overpaid given his limitations.

Riley openly stated a strategy of trading away his 1st round pick every other year and only drafting on that basis. Worked for a long time, but maybe new CBA means an adjustment is needed.

Our 3-5 top earners can’t be on the court at the same time. Let’s blame Jimmy Butler for this injustice because he’s clearly the one handing out contracts

The draft is kinda crazy. Because from a fan standpoint you want drafted guys cuz you want them cheap.

However as a player the rookie contracts are crazy. Imagine someone put a cap on how much someone could pay you at your job, even though 29 other teams are willing to pay you millions more dollars

  13. MildlyDepressed346

Tyler and Terry contracts looking nasty

  14. MargielaMan568

31 million for a 6th man is disastrous roster construction

  15. To me the real steals are Highsmith, Love, and Martin. As much as I love Jamie and think hes going to turn into something special right now hes not it. I think most first round picks end up being overpaid, even on their rookie deals. For the first couple years they’re in the league guys like JRich are probably better.

The gamble of course is that this investment is going to pay out in time and at the end of that deal Jaquez is a steal.

  16. Jimmy Butler played in 60 games this season and made $45 million— $750,000 per game. Our record in games he played was 33-27 (55% win percentage). We were 13-9 the other games (59% win percentage).

JB will be 35 at the beginning of next season. Do with this information what you will.

Worst Case Scenario: Tyler is going to be a juicy expiring contract for a playoff team that needs some shooting in 27′

    This.
Fans dont realize that draft picks arent jusy for acquiring players— they’re for acquiring SALARY CONTROLLED players. Hard to think of a team that won a chip without a single rookie contract guy contributing to some degree

  19. DrakonAir8

I think the biggest issue is you have all this money tied up to have no true SF or PF. It’s 139 million for those top 5 guys. We really need a solid 6’9 or above guy to play with Bam.
