In other words, they’re selective about who they pursue not because just one particular key Heat executive/owner is selective. Concerns could range from “guy has a no trade clause” to “injury prone” to “unnecessarily high salary that will torpedo all our flexibility” to “not a Heat culture guy” etc.

I feel Pat wants to fall into luck like how Boston did with Porzingus and Jrue and he’s fine with status quo until those moves present themselves

  2. Sometimes you need to take risks to improve and get some talent on the team… everything has a price.

Lillard didn’t worked out so time to take another strategy but this team desperately needs more offensive talent…

Heat want the perfect trade, that doesn’t cost too many assets, is a heat culture guy, isn’t too expensive, has the right amount of years on his deal, plays a specific way etc

Reality is sometimes in the nba you need to take risks if you really are all about “winning a chip”

  4. All excuses they throw out for every potential addition to the team. The truth is this organization has canned excuses to feed you everytime there’s an opportunity to improve the team. We have a cheap owner and the front office has mismanaged our assets. Just the truth.

Sometimes guys like Jimmy Butler fall into your lap perfectly. It’s great when it happens on that rare occasion but once you get it, you gotta know how to build around it. Despite two final appearances, I don’t believe the FO ever understood how to do that.

Just don’t trade to anyone ever, run on draft guys exclusively and send all the money to the owner, doesn’t sound amazing?

Ok so amuse me. Knowing what you know now, what would you have given up in assets for Dame back in July.

The only thing that annoys me about the way the Heat are operating is they want to go whale hunting without the assets to go whale hunting.

If we are super selective about who we target why are we burning picks for non stars like Rozier? why did we burn a pick to get rid of kz? I don’t feel like we are selective at all, and then when we are in the mix for a star we don’t have any assets to get them.

I agree with everything else but “not a Heat culture guy” needs to fucking stop. At some point we gotta stop prioritizing undrafted underdogs with “Heat Culture” over someone who can actually score the fucking basket unless he did some crazy ass crime like Kevin Porter Jr.
