@ESPNCleveland · 27m “If Evan Mobley plays like this, they can win a championship in the next three years, if he plays like this the rest of the series, baby, clear your June,” – @WindhorstESPN on Evan Mobley’s game 2.

Feels like an overreaction but I am injecting it into the veins regardless.

The Cavs need to get him more involved on offense early like the last game. He needs to get into rhythm to be a scoring threat. He is often iced out of the game because of ISO ball. The offense should run through Mitchell and Mobley as the first and second options if we have any hope of beating the Celtics.

If Mobley can develop some more offensive touch, definitely. He might not put on much more weight and strength, but he showed last night how effective he can be in outmaneuvering a physical big like Al Horford (who is still a really solid player) in the paint. He’s got the agility, height, and wingspan; just needs to more reliably make his layups and short range jumpers. Interested to see who between him and Chet has the better career.

  3. the Cavs chances have always been contingent on Mobley becoming a superstar. if he becomes one then yeah, the Cavs are absolutely a title contender. yesterday was a good step

He just needs to be more assertive and consistent on the offensive end

  5. Donovan spoke so highly of Evan in the post game

If this is the step in his year 3 a lot of people have been waiting on, we can win this series

  6. Let’s pump the breaks, Windhorst. I’ll be a Mobley defender til I die but let him string some dominant offensive games together before we start talking about things that happen June.

He’s just too streaky right now. Boston might be a good matchup for him or they might have just slept on him for a game. Looking forward to see if he comes out with the same intensity in game 3.

I want to see Mitchell pass the ball as well as game 2 for the rest of the playoffs. Not only did it get other guys buckets, it made so much more room for himself to score.

Well yeah. If he scores ~25/game he’s KG. If he scores 17/games he’s Bam. Those are two very good but completely different players

A version of Mobley that’s aggressive around the rim and continues to be a decent 3 point shooter would a scary scary player. If he develops a midrange it’s game over for the NBA. Quick reminder this dude is 22🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ the sky is still the limit

Windy isn’t wrong through. When Mobley (or even Allen) can command the paint it opens everyone else up. Suddenly Mitchell and Garland can start getting creative with their handles because if any defender commits to him, it likely leaves Mobley open somewhere.

We’ve been saying it for three years, this Cavs team goes to the next level when Mobley goes to the next level.

We are still waiting for that Mobley to be a consistent product every night, but if he does become that guy, the Cavs become a major problem for the rest of the league.

Honestly no porzingus is huge for our bigs, he was a big piece for the Cs all year and now we gotta feast up front
