Let’s pick this up where we left it off before the “accident” – the Toronto Raptors lose their pick, I probably lost a ton of money with a YouTube strike, and learned a hard lesson – don’t trade future first picks for players who can’t shoot.
Let’s talk loss aversion briefly, and what giving up the pick this year means for the Toronto Raptors going forward.

Packaging the pick, had they kept it, with Brown for a player ready to contribute would have been the path for me. As it is, pick 19 + Brown still works. Raptors need someone proven in the age 22-26 range to play with Scottie. Pick a development project with 31st.

If they had not gotten the Raptors pick. They could build slowly, draft one player now, and two in 2025.

they have two top-10 rookies in this class, and only one in 2025.
But also, they have an extra, known trade chip (#8) to go after Trae Young. To help accelerate this Wemby arc.

If Atlanta got #4 and #8 in their package, they could go into next Season with the #1, #4, #8, and the front office can sell their fans on building around D.Murray and a rookie Big 3.
It could be a huge flop, but it could be worthwhile for the fanbase to grow with.

Another way I'm looking at it, is that we stumbled onto the #9 pick in 2016, thanks to NY. Their miss step turned into something great for us.
We still don't know how this will go for San Antonio.
Those that think you talk smack about all old Raptors are dead wrong. Recent example OG. Your issues with Selfish Fred and Siakim is probably the same as mine. They created a toxic work environment for our franchise player in his second year out of jealousy and I definitely won’t forgive that. OG or Trent Jr if he leaves I got nothing but love for. Mess with Scottie you mess with us.
It's spooky how fast they can shut things down..
The team that took the biggest L today was the Brooklyn Nets. They got the 3rd overall pick jumped 6 spots and all that luck just to send their pick to Houston. 😅
