Looks like a lot of busts with some superstars sprinked in. Knowing our luck it’s another Marvin bagley, but praying for a KD, Ja, or Chet 🙏

2008-2012 was a rough couple years for the two pick

lol holy shit they NBA tried real hard to help the Lakers and keep them relevant during Kobe’s last few years and after he retired

The bad ones usually have something in common, there was a consensus #1, this draft there isn’t so the chance is better

Wiseman went #2 in 2020, Edwards went #1

2018 was just a huge miss for #1 and #2. Although Marvin Bagley did have a great rookie year and looked like he was heading for a Giannis like career, but just never developed at all

2017 was also a bad 1 and 2 but both of those guys had injury trouble, probably were the right picks at the time

2014 Jabari Parker was the real deal, his knees were not though and he had like 1 good season, him Giannis and Khris would to this day be running this league if he stayed healthy

2011-2012 Kyrie and AD were guaranteed number 1s

2010 John Wall guaranteed number 1, but best player in the class was arguably Paul George, Walls peak was better though

    2009 Blake guaranteed number one

Consensus is, if there’s a guaranteed number 1 pick that everyone knows before the lottery even happens, the second pick usually isn’t good, if there isn’t, the second pick is pretty good, regardless, 3rd has a better track record for some reason though. There is a slight #2 curse but guys like Brandon Miller, Ja, and Chet are starting to disprove that as of late, although Ja needs to be on the court and drop the antics before we guarantee that for him
