Saturday’s NBA Playoffs action saw the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder play game three of their second round series while the Boston Celitcs once again faced the Cleveland Cavaliers. Led by Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and PJ Washington, the Mavericks moved up 2-1 on the Thunder despite great play from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and big moments from Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren along the way. The Thunder are getting close to having their backs against the wall and the Mavericks are finding ways to win even with Luka hobbled which is a great sign for their hopes of an NBA Finals run. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and the Boston Celtics annihilated the Cleveland Cavaliers in game three even though Donovan Mitchell continues to be insane in these playoffs. Seems like Donic is the workhorse and Kyrie is the closer. Luka is a bit younger and can take the punishment even if he's not putting up great scoring numbers. Luka obsorbing some of the Thunder's defensive effort frees up Kyrie to operate more effectively and he can exercise his precision against tired opponents or at least lineups that aren't as defensively stacked.

Luka is on one leg man. So he is playing like Jokic in that he isn't trying to do it all. Honestly we expected the thunder to show their age in this series. What no one talked about was their coach showing weakness. He has been getting outcoached big time by J kidd. The hack – a lively was weak move when the game was relatively close. Your coach showed that he doesn't trust his team to handle the adversity and get the lead back without that strategy in game 3 of a series when you are tied. Your coach showed a level of weakness in this series that will come back to bite you. Thunder lost the mental game going into game 4, a must win game.

The Mavs need to try to clean this series up so Luka can get some rest. He's obviously hurting out there and, even if they win this series, they need him at full strength to win the championship. OKC playing dirty on him and seem to be trying to injure him. It also hurts that Kleber is out for the season. Glad PJ is stepping up.

Winner of this next game takes the series, imo. I'm torn. I'm a big Kyrie Irving fan, and it's cool to see him rehabilitate his reputation after a rough few years. But I'm also a big Threecone fan. Would love it for you if they win a title.
