Bad defender and thus pretty redundant with Sharpe. I think he will be good in the right situation though.

I concur, Knecht seems to be the right move at this spot. For the forwards that are in the 5-15 range in this draft, it seems like you can pick shooting or defense, but not both. Personally, I would pick Knecht as he can score at all three levels and slots in perfectly at the wing as a kick-out target for Henderson. Spacing is everything in today’s NBA. Though Knecht is kind of a swingman, he could work at the 2/3 spot in several rotations, he’s got a solid frame. The best part is that if you need the perimeter defense, you just switch in Matisse Thybulle and give him some minutes to disrupt the other team’s gameplan.

It’s just a lame draft this year, and there’s no real standouts aside from Sarr. You just gotta deal with the downsides and take the compromises where you can.

  3. Why draft a more developed product who doesn’t play good defense?

Draft younger players who can grow more.

  4. Please just get upside pick even if there is a chance to bust.

Jesus Christ taking this kid at 7 would be a crime, please delete this

I didn’t think he’ll be as bad as a defender as people think. He is big and athletic.

I would be happy with Knecht at 7, ecstatic if we got him at 14 or traded up a few spots to get him.
