Looks like Milwaukee denied Detroit permission and they moved on

This is good news. You can’t just find a GM easily. W/ Doc reaaranging the staff, confident we’ll see a much a more cohesive team next year, especially if we retool the roster.

No. 23 and No. 33 or 34 in 2024 draft. Since he is staying does that mean that Horst the first and final say about who we pick, does the coach get a say in the picks, how exactly does it work?

  3. I personally wanted us to move on from him, but it’s also not easy finding a competent replacement so I’m not upset about it.

I just hope he changes his mentality regarding older players. We don’t need any more players over 30. We need to start focusing on developing and bringing in younger talent so Giannis isn’t having to overwork himself every night. It’s crucial to any team’s longevity.

If he wants out, the Bucks should trade him to Detroit for compensation.. Why keep someone that doesn’t want to be here?

Genuine question here: how can the Bucks deny him permission to talk to other teams? Is this like an NBA rule? I kinda thought it was like NBA free agency where you can just talk to any teams you want to talk to

I was a part of the group that wanted him gone, but I also understand that finding a GM replacement in the middle of a contending window is really hard.

I just want Horst to actually prioritize drafting and improving our young core of players. His 2022/2023 drafts have been solid. Marjon is iffy but could still be a decent contributor, and adding Ajax/Livingston for cash considerations and the last pick in the draft is good.

Horst has the ability to at least be an average drafter when he doesn’t uselessly burn picks on random Euro players (Georgios Kalaitzakis, Hugo Besson, Mamu). This draft especially is loaded with good role players in the late 1st/early 2nd, so we’re in prime position to add two good rotation players that can be pro-ready out of the gate, which would help our youth/athleticism issue and give us some cap relief.

I’d like to see Horst have a shot to build around Dame and Giannis. I felt like the Bucks roster this year was built with Jrue Holiday as the starting PG in mind.

Now let’s bring in some solid perimeter defenders to shore up that weakness and let’s really see what the Dame+Giannis Bucks look like with another year of chemistry and a more accurately tuned roster.

They should’ve announced this on May 4th so they could say “May the Fourth be with you, and may the Horst be with you too.”

Horst needs to go.  Better yet, I hope he leaves and take Doc with him.  He only cares about names as opposed to actually doing his research to see what player fits what the Bucks currently lack.  He constructed a roster that even a novice GM wouldn’t have done.  He traded for Dame but at what cost?  I was excited for the team and was happy that he was here even though I never really followed his game when he played for the Blazers, but overtime, he just turned me off with his behavior all season.

I don’t care what Dame said in his exit interviews, I don’t see any big changes from him next year.  He’s an iso player who needs to have the ball in his hand to be effective.  I don’t think he can play off ball, and I don’t see that working out with Giannis who also needs the ball in his hand to be effective.  I doubt the lack of chemistry between them will change anytime soon.  Two guys with different play styles that sounds good on paper but don’t mesh well in real life.

I really don’t want to see another season of moody, uninterested Dame on the court next year.  It was hard watching him all season looking so depressed and sad.  This may be unpopular here, but the Bucks should really think deep about putting him out of his misery and sending him to where he really wants to be, Miami.
