*The Cavs are on the brink of elimination in the NBA playoffs, down 3-1 in the best-of-seven series with the Celtics. Game 5 is Wednesday night in Boston.*

*Ideastream Public Media’s sports commentator Terry Pluto said there’s reason for optimism that the Cavs could extend the win Game 5 and extend series. He points to Monday night’s Game 4 loss in Cleveland, in which they kept it close despite being without two of their best players: Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen. Mitchell is dealing with a calf injury, and Allen has missed seven straight games with a rib injury.*

We will remember this series as the “what if Mitchell didn’t get hurt” series.

But man, with Jarrett Allen out there… we might have gone up in this series at one point.

It could have been a nasty 6 to 7 game series with Allen out there.

What really shocked me was that the Celtics played great basketball in Game 4 and they still couldn’t shake off the Cavs. They were tight there the whole time, even without D Mitch and Allen.
