Almost all those I saw, Gobert was right on him, couldn't have played Jokic any better. If that was Draymond, Gobert would've had 8 blocks on 9 shot attempts.

Not a fan of Gobert but he has the best +/- of the Wolves despite playing 40' and defending Jokic. Even the higlights they showed that's genuine good defense. Sometimes a guy is on fire and it's not only about his direct matchup being bad… Rudy posted a double double with 100% FG, 2 steals, 2 blocks… that's an excellent game.

I don't like Gobert, but the reality is it's not like ANY other DPOY candidate would have been able to do anything different vs Jokic. Draymond would have also been BBQ chicken had he been out there last night. That's just how good Jokic is.
Gobert is overrated, don't get me wrong, but I can't stand listening to Draymond Green. He's the same guy who tried to flame Rudy for missing game 2, saying he really emphasizes being out there for his team, yet he's the guy who can't control himself and gets ejected/suspended over and over again. His self awareness is ridiculously nonexistent.

Rudy Gobert is a really good post defender but lacks the versatility to defend the perimeter properly adding to the fact that his offensive game is below average. I think they would do better with Naz, Jokic will get his anyway but Naz actually helps to open the floor
My question is who would have done better against Jokic? It's not like Jokic was getting easy shots. But the way that Jokic shoots the ball (high arch) makes it very difficult for anyone to guard. Gobert had 18 points, was 100% from the field, played as good as anyone could have played against Jokic, yet still gets criticized. People are crazy. You don't become a 4-time DPOY for doing nothing. It's just that he has to play against a players who is just too good.

Tbh gobert did his best it’s just that joker played at different level and some were really tough shots that somehow found the basket. U just have to tip your hat off and move on.
Too bad there aren't any centers with any offense to test Joker's defensive skills. He looks unstoppable on offense, but on defense, there's nobody to go back at him. Tim Duncan, Hakeem, David Robinson, Shaq, or even Dwight Howard could give him problems on the defensive side. If they couldn't stop him from scoring, they'd at least match his points.
Ant has to learn how to split double-teams. He gives up the ball every time they send a double-team at him. He needs to watch some MJ or even Kawhi videos to learn & see how they split double-teams.

I am a Timberwolves fan, but can focus on Jokic’s excellence instead of shooting down Gobert. I don’t think he played bad defense, even for his level, but Jokic was just on another level. I get that Draymond is going to pounce on Gobert any chance he gets though😂
