are you suggesting he’ll be better than Maxey?

  2. Rob is bucket, we all know this. His issue is defense. Thankfully, we have 2 picks this year and could actually afford taking the risk on Rob at #8 provided we draft a defensive prospect at #4.

If we were any other team in the lottery and only had 1 pick, I’d say hell no to Rob. But two picks allows us a safety net to draft another player for defense, and makes me more than willing to wanna give Rob a chance to see if he can be that microwave 6th man that can energize our bench in the future. I really think he has that in him.

Maxey has a much bigger frame. Honestly, I’m not sure Rob is done growing yet, he just looks so young, maybe he grows an inch or two, puts on some more size.

In the NBA he may get swallowed up, or he may be too quick to guard & in the right situation (Wemby, Pop) he could thrive. He’s a gamble, all these guys are.

At his size I think his ceiling is maybe an Isaiah Thomas (BOS). Watching their highlights they play very very similar. Rob could really burn defenses, tiny quick guards aren’t the easiest players to deal with.

Not my preferred pick but he could very well be a good PG in the NBA, time will tell.

Man even just look at that picture. Look at the difference of their frames and builds. Not all little guards are made the same. Anyone that has seriously followed. Rob knows he’s going to be someone that can get buckets. The question is if he’s going to just give it all back on the other end. If he’s going to be playable at the end of games. If he’s going to be playable in the playoffs.

Maxi has always projected as someone with good defensive instincts despite his size, he has very quick hands and good positioning. And even then he’s still someone that can be targeted routinely on that end.

People keep missing that RD hit .444 from deep.

His shooting percentages are with about 39 percent of his shots being contested.

Idk man I know people have their doubts on Dilly and Sheppard but all Ima say is don’t sleep on the Kentucky guard buff

Rob would have to be at least as good as Trae Young or Allen Iverson to be excited to have him as your starting point guard. Which is just so incredibly improbable. Now, maybe he could be some version of Lou Williams (45th overall pick in his draft class), Dennis Schroeder (17th), or what Bones Hyland (26th) was supposed to be, and you can be excited to have him in a sixth man role. But, if that’s what you’re shooting for, I don’t think it’s worth a top 10 selection. If we keep both of these picks, the goal should be to draft a lead guard and a wing, both of whom you have realistic hopes of becoming starters–or of starting caliber.

maxey is built strongly tho and taller

Maxey has a pretty significant size/length/weight advantage.

My issue with Dillingham is that he’s tiny.
