I am a diehard Sixer fan and before you guys tear me to pieces I’d like to share this with you.
Bill Sharman, the late great Celtics player , Lakers coach, Lakers co-owner, all NBA 75 team and my cousin….
I never knew Bill, but I’ve met his wife. Who is my grandmothers 1st cousin or niece. I can’t confirm because both my grandmother and Bill passed.
Anyways, I was adopted by my grandparents when I was eight.
I was already a Sixer fan.
Shortly after being adopted, they told me about Bill and the Lakers and the Celtics. (even my grandmother was a Lakers fan)
But in 2001 Bill offered me tickets to sit adjacent to the Lakers bench versus the Sixers in Philadelphia.
For some reason, my 10-year-old self did not go and I believe I had to do with a playoff sporting event that I was involved in. Later that year those two teams would meet in the finals. And help Bill complete the trifecta player, coach, owner rings
He also sent me $10 in the card every birthday until I was 14 or 15 and he must’ve had 150 of these third cousin kids to send to.
Anyways, even though over the years, the Celtics have done nothing but torture my soul I just bought a custom order Sharman throwback jersey to rock during the off-season.
I hope you guys can see where I’m coming from. I couldn’t change sides, especially for the number one enemy.
But I still respect him enough to rock a jersey, even if that means wearing a Celtics jersey.
For the record, I’ve regretted not going to that game every time I think about it.

Where’d you buy this?
I still want one, of like Tatum though. There’s fakes or stolen goods in ebay and I’ve honestly heard good things about them in the past but I’m still not sure if I want to take the plunge.
My memory may be off… but as I recall Sharman was the steady guard to Cousy’s wilder court display. He was a great foul shooter for sure–back when guards got to the line far more often than now.
