One of the best drafts possible for us IMO. Although, I don’t see the Wizards taking Clingan over Risacher. Regardless, if Risacher isn’t available to us, Castle is a no brainer at #4. And an offensive threat is a no brainer to pair with Castle at #8. Castle is so versatile you could technically draft Knecht or Dillingham/Sheppard at #8 and they all would fit with Castle. He could move either from the 3 to the 1 depending on who we draft at #8.

Ideal would be risacher/sheppard, but castle/dilly or castle/knect would be good too

This just seems like a Branham/Wesley draft all over again. One a good scorer with bad defense, the other good on D and will hopefully develop a 3pt shot. And they don’t seem to be that much better than them too.
I would rather go with a guy like Salaun combined with Dilly or Castle, but not both of them. We need more variety with our lineups.

It’s good to see what the spurs have done in the past and how they fit into our system. Recently, the spurs have been drafting for position less basketball. I think a given is Castle making it to the spurs since he fits into the system a long with adding defense; I’ve seen mocks where he ranges from 3-10 on most boards. But if I had to bet my life savings on any player being a spur, it’s him. I wanna be greedy and have him at 8 since 5-7 aren’t drafting guards but wings.
As for the other pick, we need more of a wing. That leaves 5 possible wings. Risacher (I think he goes top 3, especially after today), Matas( big development project but very high ceiling), Holland(can’t shoot but plays good defense), Cody Williams(very skinny, raw but can knock down shots), and Salaun( dark horse pick but super raw, can see him being elite 3 & D). Think realistically it goes like this for the spurs Risacher>Salaun=Matas>Cody>Holland

This a best player available regardless of position draft, and don;t be afraid to draft a guy high if you like him. The odds are probably good that 10 years from now the best player from this draft may have been drafted 27th, or 53rd or whatever.

If this is the picks we’re not going to see these guys until after the All-Star break.

I don’t hate this. I have not been optimistic that Risacher will be available at 4, but if he is…I think his upside is hard to pass up on. I like Castle alot, though.

If Buzelis is “a tall wing who can shoot and finish plays with athleticisim”, why don’t we want him?
