on this night but seemed like some kind I thought we started the game well and we got up five we then we didn’t close out the first quarter well uh didn’t close out the second quarter well then we had a search to start to third cut it to five then two two loose balls that they recovered and turned it into two threes so you we’re going to have to play a lot better like Jos tried to get go uh yeah yeah uh you know we’ll see do you know what the injury is I don’t um what were they doing on the boards tonight that helped them be so so they went hard you know we knew they would you know coming off last game so uh you know and that’s what it’s about Coach defensively what was the the biggest issue tonight uh just finishing you know so the initial part times was good but you got to make a second and third effort keep the ball out of paint then get to bodies uh and then uh you know finishing our defense has to be better rough start for for Jaylen obviously just what did you see from from his standpoint you know you you don’t get he’s going to work the game he’ll figure it out and you know there was a physicality to the game which is fine we knew that that that would be there um and then I thought in the second half half he he got to everything that he wanted to get to Tommy made a switch at one point with Isaiah and Precious on Pascal was that in part due to Josh’s injury or was that more of the both both you know just different look and uh you know and we’ve been doing that you know at different times in in in throughout the series is I I don’t think you can give him a steady diet of one guy so just moving it around a little bit many kids the yeah yeah yeah I think that you know like the force that you got to be ready for that uh in in a game like this um you know Back Against The Wall you’re going to get urgency and Desperation and you got to match that intensity and you got to keep doing it and so you know like I said I like the way we started the game but we didn’t sustain it Tom I know the Mantra of the team for all year has been next man up but do it come a point where just the the mental strain of having to continually do your job do somebody else’s job whoever’s that job yeah this is sort of the nature you know of the playoffs this is what you play for you love competition this is it you know hardfought competitive often times it comes down to a hustle play a loose ball whatever it might be and so you’re going to get tested physically mentally emotionally and you got to be able to get through all of that and so whatever it is that we’re facing we can overcome just keep battling you guys played hard to the end of the regular season uh to get the two seed now you have a game set at home on Sunday just what does that me yeah I think that you know we worked for that and uh you know but you still have to make sure you’re putting the work in to earn you you know a win and you’re not going to win just because you’re at home you have to put the work into it and we have to play well um with you saying you don’t know about we’ll see with Josh Hart what about OG is there like a chance that he plays in game seven whatever medical says what are they saying day to day Isaiah defensively what would you say was the biggest issue tonight um just being physical I mean I think they they responded kind of how we responded the game before um and then kind of offensively we were kind of kind of stagnant where they kind of were able to load up to Jaylen so we just have to do a better job of um making jaylen’s life easier I mean I think um he was guarded by three guys most most of the possessions um they were loading up so I think we just have to do a better job of um just doing the little things um getting the loose balls but then also getting good shots up so they can’t run out on the break so we just have to do a better job getting Jaylen easier looks you know just moving the ball you guys dominated the glass previous game what was the difference in tonight’s game I mean you got the statue I mean I think they they shot like 151% I mean there was a couple that we should have got for sure but um we justed have to get um easier looks um by the end of the day there was a there was some possessions where we should have got those 50/50 balls but different isaah you guys battled all the way to the last game of the regular season to get the two seed it all come down to G it all comes down now to a game seven at the Garden was that why this team played to the very end yeah I mean it’s uh important I mean the Gard is the guard I mean um get a little bit of um extra energy out there and the fans are amazing so um you just have to come in Step Up and um make the right plays and play with the right effort and then kind of go from there you guys keep talking next man up and another one Josh goes down today just kind of how hard is it on you guys that it’s one after another um I mean if you get too focused into that you’re it’s going to be hard to get through so um what we’ve been kind of focusing on is um just day by day um just trust in the process I mean yeah it’s not easy but I think um we just have to keep pushing and then yeah when you see I mean Josh hard has been like the guy that’s played all the minutes every game when he goes down I mean how I mean concerning is it I guess not his whole situation I mean just knowing him um I mean I didn’t talk to him or know the situation right now but just knowing him um he’ll do whatever to play so um if his leg’s not falling off can probably say that he’ll probably play but I mean I haven’t talked to him yeah I haven’t talked to him so we’ll see but um yeah it’s hard I mean he’s done so much for us this season so we’ll see we understand that you know they’re they’re you know a hard playing team and we knew there was going to be a you know a battle coming in here I think you know hav’t lost at home um but you know we still have another game and um I know this team I know how they’re going to respond and we’ll be ready to go this has definitely become a homecourt series throughout is it just a matter of the crowd making a difference is there more to it and and how much does that make you feel good about your chances coming home on Sunday um I mean I think you know speaking of the home court is you know you look back at the end of the season um this is the exact reason why you know we played the last couple games to get that two seed um this is the exact reason we’re going home game seven um obviously we know the guardan is going to be rocking and you know we’re trying to handle business can you make adjustments at this point this deep in the series or is it now just a matter of who wants it more come Sunday um you know obviously there’s a little adjustments but I mean you said it it comes down to you know will and you know just who wants it more um who’s going to compete harder for a full 48 um and like I said said Sunday after you know we responded well after with game four um you know they responded well after game five so you know it’s it’s our job it’s our duty to you know regroup watch the film and you just just understand that we have to play harder for a 40 full 48 you spoke to Josh at all post game I not what what goes through your mind when I mean he’s the guy who’s played a gazillion minutes and kind of is always diving for balls and rebounds and everything else what goes through your mind when you see him kind of struggling enough with something that he actually has has Le the game um obviously you never want to see anybody get hurt um but bro it’s been it’s been our season um we have more than enough whoever’s on the court I’ve said it you know 100 times this whatever five is on the court um you know we have a blueprint here tips demands certain you know certain things from certain guys um and you go out there and you know you compete your tails off and you give you give yourself a chance to win um so that’s that’s our mindset is whether he goes or not that’s our mindset just coming out there and playing more desperate you know one team gets blown out they come out more desperate I think that’s what we have to obviously do is respond um not not play you know with our backs against the wall but you know as loser go home how much of a blow is it for Josh to take that hit and not be a yeah obviously it’s tough cuz he brings a lot of the rebounding for us a lot of effort um you know he’s just one of our leaders so for him to not R return his stuff did they do anything J that you saw that had him get up to the slow start that he had or was it just shots that he normally makes that yeah I mean I think he had good shots good looks it just didn’t fall to that you think you see Josh all you’re alone never asking out when you see him hurting like that just kind of I guess how surprising is it and I guess scary for you guys I mean he he seems like he’s he’s feeling better now um I mean I’m not sure about the whole situation but obviously for a guy like that you know pretty tough that asking out it’s not a good sign but I think he’ll bounce back you and you and down they both seemed to be in a good rhythm in the first half with them double and triple teaming Jaylen uh what changed for you guys in the second half that maybe you didn’t get as much offensively I mean I think they were just flying around uh they were rotating pretty well just trying to run us off the three-point line and I think a lot of it also came from us getting stops and we weren’t getting stops d game seven at the Garden on Sunday are these the type of moments that you live for yeah absolutely um I mean glory to God that we’re in this position being able to play this game at this level and you know a game seven in New York City you know was better than that just you got to give them credit for having the the um just the way they played tonight know you just got to give them a lot of credit seemed like you you got some looks that you’re normally comfortable with what do you attribute your your slow start to in this one um make sure of everything um I I mean they’ve been doing a great job of all series of making adjustments and everything and um it’s made me adjust as well and so um obviously I I was shooting shots I normally make but I miss but um it’s a mixture of both mixture of me just missing the shots and mixure of them just not playing really well Jaylen when Josh ass out of the game in the first quarter just how surprising is that compared to his typical Iron Man effort out there um obviously something must must have been wrong but uh I saw him come back in the game and um continue the fight and so um was I I wasn’t really necessarily worried or anything it’s just um I guess you can just add it to the list julen you mentioned the list obviously the fact that you guys are dealing with a bunch of injuries obviously the physical toll of that is obvious but is there a mental side of it where you guys try to avoid getting just emotionally worn out by everything that’s happening um that’s what we have each other for um it’s been a lot of things that obviously physically don’t go our way with with our our team this year and um but uh I think our main focus is that whoever we have out there um regardless of what you’re dealing with or anything if you’re out there you’re ready to go that’s just been our mindset and so yeah Josh ask to come out but he comes back in and gives everything he has and so um I mean when working as for a teammate and so uh I just no matter what the situation is we’re going to have each other’s backs and um yeah what um kind of on that note what you know of Josh what what would you say about his status for game seven I mean I would assume he’s playing it’s game seven and um the way that they were double triple teaming you was that different than the way they were showing those double and triple teams than previously in the series yeah uh like I said they they adjust and um they try to make ways try to make things difficult and um I have to adjust as well and so um showing me different looks and I got to do a better job of reading it and um I just can’t be what I was for the first 40 minutes of the game Jaylen you guys played for that number two seed all to the end now you get this home game at the Garden for game seven just kind of thoughts on fighting for that and what the reward is here yeah um it’s definitely something we fought for and um to have home Corner Advantage for as long as we can throughout the playoffs and [Music] um I’m just I’m just happy that our team has the mindset that we do and so um but it’s it’s it’s not given just because it’s at home we get to go go out there and play and um earn it now they’re going to be ready and we’re going to be ready as well just you you guys played obviously with a desperation the other day they they talked about it today I guess some guys said they had that desperation today what do you expect for a game seven I expect both teams to have desperation
