A few years ago the Lakers were in an elimination game and AD had a bad groin injury but it wasn’t torn or severely injured and sat out the next 2 games. The media was giving him shit for a few days so he decided to give it a go in Game 6 when the lakers were down 3-2. He reinjured it badly 5 minutes into the game and the lakers lost and ended their season.
I personally respect AD for giving it a try in an elimination game. I know he made it worse for himself but without him the Lakers lose anyways. He also had 3-4 months to fully rehab and get back healthy for the start of next season, it’s not like he risked reinjury in the middle of January when you have 50 games left.
A lot of people take the opposite stance and say that AD should have never played in that game and the media and his coaching staff pressured him into playing. I think some of that is happening to OG for game 7 with the pressure and with his impending free agency. Hopefully it works out and OG can make the right health conscious decision.
