a to practice today yeah yeah what’s the what’s the mood mood’s great man mood’s great uh really been it’s been great all series regardless of the result um you know guys are locked in they’re connected um they’re excited should be fun game sevens can always be a little different you know maybe shooting isn’t as good or or things just maybe go a little weird in game seven what do you say to the team to maybe calm them down or fire them up or any anything going well we really shouldn’t need fired up at this point you know and calming down is um you know there’s going to be of course of you know great atmosphere everyone’s going to be ready to go um staying in the moment you know um these These are big games for sure but they’re still one by little plays so you got to make all the little plays you focus on all do the little stuff then uh big big stuff will take care of itself so um but you know our guys will be ready for it you think when you guys double yish early the way you did the other night do you think that maybe that activates your defense a little bit gets guys maybe more into the game defensively because they have to fly around and have to kind of have that Focus I mean I think our defense is pretty active whether we’re doubling or not you know I think what it does uh let us know is how you know how on point we are in Game Plan execution so maybe mentally like locked in a little bit more at times when uh we’re able to do do those different things that we don’t always do um but our our defense is pretty active so Charles’s always been known as a scorer how he made his reputation what did it mean for the team for him to do everything else so well in game six yeah you know this is to me was a one of his best performances um certainly in the season and in many ways since I’ve been here in terms of like what he did everything that the team needed him on both ends of the floor uh and it’s that that’s a microcosm of his entire year you know like the sacrifices he’s made uh offensively the commitment he’s made defensively um and just you know being able to use his talent with such gravity for the benefit of others uh and stay impatient while doing it I thought it was just masterful you guys haven’t helped off of Porter a ton in this series just with the way that he was shooting the ball coming in how much has it sort of been an emphasis to try and deny him the ball and take away his spots I mean he’s s so dangerous with his sides you know like you have to be super mindful of how far off you are on him at any time cuz he’s got great size and he you know shoots the ball high and he has a quick release and a quick Sid step dribble um fortunately you know we’re able to put some size on him too which could could help bother him um you know he’s a big part of their success and has been for a number of years and um so yeah he he’s a key guy for us so as you reflect on game six the fact that you fall out 92 and you call the timeout um anything about that huddle or or that moment um considering these games have been kind of blowouts that um what maybe your group learned from that that it can apply to game seven or matter how the game starts yeah I think um what we you know I thought we started great with great energy and pretty good purpose the other day um you know offensively kind of we missed the layup missed a couple shots that were wide open shots we just were had just a a a slight lag time and getting back in transition and you can’t afford that I mean they’re they’re committ to running uh before we can get set defensively their bigs both push the ball which makes them even faster um so yeah I just we recognize that hey we got to convert offensively and we got to get back defensively um and once we were able to do that we’re you know better but uh I thought it was just a great job just regrouping by our guys you know con is obviously your your veteran leader does he speak up more in situation like this or will you ask him to no I mean you Mike’s always you know always talking in appropriate ways at appropriate time you know he’s always communicating with the guys he’s got um all the right messages right tone so no he’s a guy you don’t have to ask him to do more or less over the the course of the series here while asking but how was this between you and Mike uh that out it’s been great man we found a good Rhythm um you know a couple games ago I he kept he was looking looking for at me or to me a lot I just said can’t do that we’re losing some possessions maybe here and there just trying to just trust your gut keep you know doing the things that we’ve talked about you know you I told you’re not going to be you know you’re not going to be wrong like what you decide might not work but it’s not going to be wrong you know it’s just coaching so it’s been going well man it’s uh he’s been doing a heck of a job was that for like play calls or what they call time out timeouts play calls uh you know what like flipping a matchup flipping a coverage you know sometimes we can’t get that information to each other quick enough and those are things you have to do like in the moment as you see uh I just told him trust trust your gut trust you know trust what you see he’s got 30 years of experience you know so use it you yell at them later right yeah
