all right sa uh what do you make of what wilmon had to say he’s correct uh but it has to start somewhere and why not start with an NBA champion as a head coach of Mike buen hoser who’s also a four-time champion as an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs who also coached the Milwaukee Bucks for five years and they had 23 more wins than anybody in the NBA at the time and one of the elite offenses in the game as well so we got to take that into consideration as all as well but here’s where Mike wilbon didn’t go into the details that all of us covering the NBA are fully aware of Kevin Durant in Phoenix is a problem it is a problem we don’t see it because the stats are there him and Booker average 27 points per game and what have you but they say Kevin Durant is never happy they say that he went more than a month without even talking to the head coach they say that he doesn’t look happy there and all he wants to do is play When the game starts and tip off time arrives but when it comes to ingratiating yourself with your teammates and getting along with everybody and stuff like that he just lives in his own world he’s not hated he’s not despised he’s not doing anything negative he’s not being somebody that’s too facing and behind people back doing stuff no that’s not who Kevin is but keeping to himself why does that matter it’s similar to what he was doing in Golden State before he ultimately departed which is what was driving Draymond Green Crazy which is why they ultimately got into it on the court in that Clippers game and what have you because you hear stuff you hear stuff you hear about the level of unhappiness etc etc and you get tired of it because when you don’t want to talk and when you don’t want to answer questions you don’t want to lead in a very visible way well that forces other people to have to step up and take on a level of culpability that they don’t want to stomach and so because of all of that stuff that’s the untold stuff that’s going on in Phoenix there’s more than that make no mistake it’s not all on Kevin Durant but that’s a big big part of it which is why you’ve got to disband this group they’re not a big three they’re big three in money they’re big three in name but they ain’t a big three in level of production they would have wor 11.6 points for 100 possessions well guess what that schematically in terms of Frank vogle that’s number one offensively because defensively the man knows what he’s doing but evidently they were one of the poor defensive teams particularly in the fourth quarter they just didn’t get it done and in the end when you get swept in the first round and got those kind of problems I’m talking to America I’m not speculating I’m not guessing I’m talking to you as somebody that covers this league most of us in the league who cover the NBA know this stuff has been going on in Phoenix but it’s far more it’s far more problematic than we gave noise to it about as the season progressed Once the season ended you heard more and more and more about what happened that’s why they got a championship coach up in there with a 5-year deal giving them more than 10 million a year because you’re making that investment because you know more changes have to come and you have to have that person in that position that could facilitate oh Monica where are you on this do you feel like they need to break bake up uh break up excuse me the big three uh yeah I I I think they’re late to the big three party not only the things that Stephen A mentioned apply but like typically let’s just go back to Milwaukee the year they be Phoenix in the championship The Big Three the third of the big three is a willing is willing to sacrifice is a Swiss army knife in terms of being able to defend you just put together three scores like to me it’s a little repetitive so I didn’t I remember being in Fort Green Park at the layout when the Bradley Bill trade went down being like what what what are we doing here so I do think that there’s some redundance there the only person in this that has trade value and legitimately could be moved is probably Kevin Durant and even though Stephen A just rattled off some of the interpersonal things he just want to hoop it’s plenty of teams that want to do that just want who that’s right and they’ll take them you know what it just gets hard though when you’re dealing with a player like Kevin Durant talking about a guy that I’ve been in locker rooms because you’re always wondering man what what hey am I you’re walking on eggshells man what can I say how do I approach him and I understand that he wants to play and he is a historically great player but it’s tough it’s tough when you’re dealing with a guy like that because you want to ingratiate yourself you’re a part of a team and it’s it’s a big difference between a basketball team locker room and a football locker room cuz you got 80 80 guys in a football locker room only got 15 guys in that locker room there’s only so many guys that you can talk to and then when you get one of your Superstars what Stephen A is reporting is it’s true it’s tough it’s it’s it’s tough to but I agree with you guys I think they need to break it up because the problem that they have is that they don’t have a point guard right dein Booker is not a point guard I don’t care people oh but he can do no he can’t well here’s the big thing also as well they had a point guard yeah his name was CP3 yeah well what’s one of the reasons he was gone you know one of the reasons CP3 is gone because CP3 is known for holding people accountable he ain’t playing that nonsense we ain’t going to just do what we want to do we going to do what it takes to to win so that’s problematic as well and here’s the biggest thing Molly I held off on this but I got to say this there’s very few teams in the league that have more assets to offer cuz Phoenix doesn’t have there’s very few teams that have more assets to offer than Oklahoma City and New York New York’s got 11 first round picks over the next seven years and you know how I said KD take them take take the number one option take KD New York listen listen listen listen I’m telling you I got calls immediately after saying last week go get Kevin Durant they said hell no they said no no no you don’t want to mess New York up if you’re Oklahoma City and you see them young thorough breads they on to come up you don’t want to mess up what what what Shannon was talking about in the locker room and I’m like what do you mean mess up Kevin Durant ain’t the game’s being played now now now if Kevin Durant if that is wrong we all owe him an apology but he needs to understand the PE there are people in the league all of us we’re being told this I I have I have two questions yes when do you feel like Kevin Durant was happy in a locker room you ready for this yeah I don’t know over time so I’m actually glad you posed that question M I don’t know over a time not in Oklahoma City not in Golden State not in Brooklyn well and and again it’s like what do we attribute that to is it when the team’s not winning is it is it chemistry with never is it the city cuz he’s too talented go ahead Superstar Amplified in the conversation around KD and I don’t know what is or isn’t true right like when I have the chance to cover games of Phoenix KD just want to hoop our last conversation when I was on Phoenix was he was kind of chuckling at the idea of guys being labeled old old right so that’s kind of where my knowledge start he always just wants to hoop correct right right but I think I think there are probably more guys in the league that present the same sort of Personality no I not that it’s it’s different Eminem it’s it’s different I’m not saying listen you cover the league you know what talk about I’m not trying to challenge you on that what I’m saying is is that there’s a whole bunch of dudes who just want to hoop and don’t want any of the extracurricular responsibilities that’s not new you’re right I got you but very few wear it or have the have the cache to wear it on their sleeve even around their teammates the way that he has what are you going to say to a brother that’s going to go out every single night no matter what he’s doing he’s going to go out every single night he going to give you 27 28 a night he’s going to be efficient he’s going to be one of the elite superstars in this game Durant does not cheat you yeah on what if in terms of chemistry and and obviously you’re part of this as well is it a what if there’s the right coach like the coach that he respects that can get to him or what if there’s another veteran player that he respects well let me stop you you had Scott Brooks for years you got Steve Kerr okay St the Kenny Aon now you got Steve Nash isn’t there if Kevin Durant doesn’t mind you had a problem with him being there so you let that happen okay you go to Phoenix Frank vog Champion okay uh Monty williamss was there before Frank vogle the bottom line is when you sit up there and say he’s 35 years old he’s been in a league 15 years nobody trying to hear anything about oh is there the right coach at this stage with his great I’m just saying too much talent so you trade him what’s the move I think you do and who and who takes him I’m a lot of people take what’s what’s the right place if you’re saying it’s the kind of thing like the Knicks are too young they don’t want to mess up what the Knicks have going obviously they’re banged up you don’t want to mess up what’s happening in OKC what’s the right F personality wise I’m talking just talk about his personality I’m not talking about whether not it’s going to fit cwise or just his personality I think the perfect place for him would have been the Lakers because of LeBron now we really in dream of course going person I would take him I would take New York I know obviously you’re a lak I’m only talking about LeBron because LeBron is a magnet for the is’s a magnet for the attention so because you have that Kevin Durant get the pl of background this be fine but that wasn’t that wasn’t enough for him in Golden State evidently so we don’t know so before we jump all the way to Fantasy Land I what I will say I think we all agree that he’s the piece that has the best return if he’s Val however book got they did including the four game sweep in the postseason only play 45 games together so to your point starting somewhere with a new head coach if they can stay healthy if they can Jael if they can have more time to play together but Monica you’re talking about guys that had a history of injury that’s getting older last I check you talking about somebody that’s about to be 56 you don’t get healthier as you get older that’s not it and this is where I’m going to this is where I’m going to come at you okay tell me think about your personality think about how look at me yep I’m here we here you remember all that right you know how you do right your personality how vibrant how positive you are are and you’re working for somebody every day who reportedly is you’re just going to be like Jo I hey you good hey what’s going on man you good yeah yeah at a certain point you stop talking yeah that’s all I’m saying that’s what but if it worked on the court then it’s all good but it’s not working on the court but if they have more games is what I’m saying maybe well how many games did it have in bu and holder A Difference Maker for this team does this move the needle this hire I think it moves the needle because buen hoser is a hell of a coach who knows what he’s doing knows how to be productive but I don’t know that his strength is overcoming that good point I don’t know that I I have all the faith in the world in buen HOSA as a a a coach in terms of x’s and o’s and knowing and dissecting who should be responsible allocating responsibility to this person to that person I have all the faith
