The Atlanta Hawks are About to make a HUGE Mistake…

so the Atlanta Hawks are about to make a massive and I mean massive mistake with the number one overall pick you can come back to me in 12 months time in 5 years time and I’m so confident with this one p just purely because of the way the NBA is going what type of players are valued what type of players are valued High what invol well like what is the types of players needed to win at the NBA level and the fact that I don’t know how good Alex SAR is before you on if you guys are new to the channel subscribe we so close to 2,000 subscribers if we can hit that by the end of the day or even tomorrow that’ll be absolutely insane either way now let’s get on to the video so Lads the Atlanta Hawks are going to take Alex SAR that is almost a given it is almost a given that Alex SAR is going to be going to the Atlanta Hawks I would be shocked if if it goes any other way because obviously people are saying the Hawks need a big I don’t know how Alex SAR is going to be good straight away and since the Hawks got the number one overall pick people have been kind of convince themselves that this is wambi 2.0 he is someone that would have been considered a unicorn in things past in years past but I just find it hard hard to see where he translates to be good right away like he’s going to be a decent enough Defender I guess but the athleticism the vertical was there the vertical was there from the draft combine he six11 without shoes so you’re looking at somebody that people are like oh he’s 71 he’s he’s 611 without shoes he’s 71 with shoes but they measure a lot of guys without shoes now he might have been 71 back in the day nowadays he’s 6′ 11 and he does have quite a high vertical leap but as far as the running was concerned was he that much faster than Donovan kingan no was he that much faster than Zach Edy no he didn’t look absolutely incredibly quick the jump shot doesn’t look good like he has some ability to shoot the ball it still doesn’t look good so out of all the like bigs I know cling clinging off the dribble was even better but his jumper looked smooth whereas Alex SAR jumper is it doesn’t look great it really doesn’t like he was decent in the NBL like he was very decent in the nbll however the NBL is probably not as good a league as proa and we are seeing right now Zachary ree scoring 26 points in a playoff game in the proa proa is the closest league as far as how it’s played to the NBA just the way that the players play it is as close as you can get to NBA basketball not in the NBA it is the closest thing it is where um in the last year Bel kabali and um Victor wanyama have come from and in Victor wanyama yes he was the MVP of the league but he was putting up quite similar stats in both leagues like he was putting up fairly similar stat in both leagues and he was honestly um like it was obvious that he was going to be good and I’m seeing some people say t johon salon is going to be better than Zachary ISE and he’s just not he’s just not like if we’re going to be calling Alex SAR 71 if he’s 7-1 then re is 610 like he’s not at the draft combine why because he’s still playing meaningful basketball he played in the Euro Cup he played in the proa he’s looking good and when we look at the prototypical players in the NBA right now A 610 wing with a long Wing spine who can shoot the ball was he the best shooter in the world no shot in 35% from three today he went five of seven he went five of seven so he has that ability to shoot the ball so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him come in as a rookie in around that 35% Mark and like that’s fine when you’re starting off your NBA career obviously pure Shooters are going are expected to do bit better but to start off his career as a 610 Wing who plays defense at 35% is fine like we’re looking at how many 610 wings are there that are going to play Elite defense can he dribble no not really he can’t create his own shot but when you look at the Atlanta Hawks they don’t need a big they they just get CL just keep clink capella like they’ve got clink capella he’s going to offer more next season and in the next two years than Alex cyers whereas Zachary ret is going to be a perfect complimentary piece like you’ve got obviously bogdanovich coming off the bench if you’re at Atlanta like imagine just as far as versatility like just pure length ability to shoot the ball a little bit if you’re able to put H Hunter anday on the floor at the same time if you’re able to get a two guard in a trade for dejonte and you’re able to put these two prototypical NBA Wings on the floor at the same time who are going to all both play defense both hit shots both free up some space to Trey young and you’ve still got your roller it for me it’s it’s not that it’s a no-brainer because alexar does have the highest upside in this draft and I think one of the reasons why you could see the Hawks taking alexar is that the Hawks might necessarily not necessarily think that like they’re going to be long-term with Trey young maybe they’re thinking you know what we’re going to have to figure out a way to blow it up we’re not longterm looking to Builder and Trey young we’re definitely not long-term looking to Builder around to jante Murray so I think that’s kind of one reason why they might take not take um or might take an Alex SAR res and if you are purely going based on potential you’re going to take SAR Heck if you’re purely going based on potential you’re probably taking Matas buellis for being um higher and the five he’s going to go but for me I just think as far as just readymade players he’s already going to be a good Defender he’s got length that no what a real Wing in this class has and he has an ability to shoot the ball if you’re saying oh but like SAR is going be a much better offens player when the two of them played for the French national team last year like they both put up near identical scoring numbers they’re both different types of players whereas you’re looking at better rim protector in Alex SAR you’re looking at a much better perimeter defender in um R but I just think there are it’s hard to find Zachary R there are a million guys that can be a center for Trey young the way Trey young plays there are a million guys like Dallas have shown it Dallas have showed that like if you’ve got an elite ball handling Center or ball handling point guard who’s an elite playmaker just getting a roller and rim Runner we’ve seen what Derek Lively has done we’ve seen what um Daniel Gafford has done you don’t need if you at the atanta Hawks and this is purely if you are set I’m keeping Trey young you don’t need to waste a number one overall pick on a roll guy who will dunk the ball you don’t need to waste not even waste use a number one overall pick on that if that’s what you want literally just trade go down go get yourself kware go get yourself kware honestly you don’t even need to draft this like you can find a j a guy in a javil McGee mode you can find a Daniel Gafford there’s a lot more of them than there are resets when we look at 610 Wings you’ve got banko if you can consider him a wing you got fron vogner who can’t shoot a lick uh you’ve got Michael Porter Jr ring up the top of my head you’ve got Isaac who can’t play offense and if you look at all those guys as far as space in the floor the only one who does it better who’s going to do it better than them is um mpj and mpj doesn’t really to play defense that much not a absolutely terrible Defender not a great defender also he is known as Michael the offense stops here Porter junor for a reason when you look at guys with his physical profile it’s not common that they’re going to be good on both ends of the floor and that’s we again does he have Superstar potential no but this is the 2024 NBA draft you don’t need to have Superstar potential I’m going to be honest you don’t need to have Superstar potential um when it comes to this type of draft because I’m not even like Alex sard does but he has a much lower floor than re so just my opinion I think passing up I think drafting Alex s re is going to be a big big mistake for Atlanta but we all know they’re going to do even though look upsides there I understand why they’re doing it I just think it’s going to be a big mistake

  1. Hawk fans one you have no idea what sarr is going be and I get it but you have a young c to try build with you just draft him last year and the chances are circuit into being a bus, but I’ll say I agree with him Zaccharie Risacher me of a young Kevin Garnett at 19 years old and the big issue the horses is you need a stretch for who can run with Trae Young that’s the issue. He needs a man to stretch the floor with him and that’s what he could be

  2. Kel' El Ware should be the Hawks pick. Maybe that's not at #1. Maybe they trade back a few spots. How it happens is not important as long as it happens.

  3. Hawks need defense. They give up 120.6. That's the 2nd worse in the league. Risacher is a pure scorer. He is not going to defend or pass. He just scores. He would fit well with Trae offensively but they will give up more than 120 points a game if he is in the starting lineup. Or any lineup

  4. Trae went to the ECF with Capela as his main partner, and now we have Sarr, who is seemingly a better Clint Capela, but who actually plays offense, and can actually (potentially) shoot? And even has an All-Star ceiling?

I wouldnt be mad if they picked Risacher, but Sarr sounds like the biggest need for Trae (yes even more than a wing defender)

  5. So, MPJ is a better fit for the Hawks than Nic Claxton with significantly better offensive upside? And yes, Sarr wasn't THAT impressive at the combine in the mobility tests, but if you watch the games, he's obviously more mobile than Clingan and Edey (with the ball and without).
And while Risacher is a good defender, Sarr is naturally always going to be more valuable on defense.
And yes, there's a lot more PnR bigs than tall 3&D players, but Sarr is likely to be one of the most versatile defenders in the NBA fairly quickly and he's at least the most versatile in this class. I don't know why you're saying that the shot doesn't look good for Sarr. The form is good and the confidence is there. It's a little slow, but that rarely holds back bigs (look at Jokic and Brook Lopez). The form can be occasionally inconsistent, but that comes with reps and he'll have an entire team of development guys helping him in the NBA.
If I'm the Hawks, I don't think a tall shooter with limited potential is really what I want. I would want to get better on defense, and Sarr is an upgrade over Capela and over Okongwu. I like his upside to be more than a PnR big. I see his ability to drive and attack closeouts. I see the potential to become a fairly adequate shooter.
The only thing holding Sarr back from already being a high-value NBA player is his finishing, and playing next to Trae Young and having a whole team of development guys will fix that fairly quickly.

  6. Sarr or Ciingan are the players needed to replace Clint and OO. We have wings. We need to replace Bruno too. The center position need a complete over haul. VIt is the 2. Trade DJ, Clint, OO, Bruno, Hunter and Bogi to that shooting 3 JJ 4 Sarr 5 and Trae 1 the driver. The best scoring and assist man in the game. Do this ECF guaranteed.

  7. I love Risacher but Atlanta would be dumb not to get Sarr. You always go BPA. They can trade Clint Capela for shooters and then they can run a double front court of Sarr and Okungwu to offset the bad defense of Young and Murray.

  8. Damn u don’t really watch the hawks.. as a fan hawks Clint is on the back end of he’s career and hunter is a bench player at best with sub par defense.. hawks need bigs that plays good defense

  9. Look at all of those NBA -2K20's experts; that are calling the above video, as a click-bait… Try watch the video a second time.
When you compare those two mentioned players: actually there isn't much to compare between both. Since Zaccharie R. is already a: 27 points, for an Euro-League playoff game, shooting guard; at the young age of 19. And that is already, an NBA all-star-game, material player, there; for Mista Zaccharie R.
Meanwhile, Mista Alex S., is only has half of that same "business card;" also at the same age of 19; to apply for the NBA nr1 draft spot, for the year of 2024.

  10. The Hawks need defense. A 7' Center is just what they need. Who needs a fast center that shoots jump shots? They need a rim protector and a defensive paint presence.

  11. The question is, at what point do you value size over more potential? The goal for every team should be to eventually compete for a championship right? Do you see the teams left in the playoffs?? Especially in the west. Twin Towers of Minnesota, Denver, Dallas, OKC, and eventually Wemby. The days of "small ball" and winning with a 6'8" center may be gone. Regardless of what happens with the guards Trae and DJM, the Hawks should not trade this pick. Size will be the key to winning for the next decade+. Draft Sarr or even Clingan, but OO cannot be the answer if you're hoping to beat those monsters in the West..

Oh and Clint Capela has lost a step. His rebounding numbers have gone down every year since becoming a Hawk, and he doesn't have the ability to play the amount of minutes that will be necessary come the playoffs time. You see bigs like Embiid and Jokic playing 37-40+ mins per game in the playoffs, Clint can't do that.
