  1. Should we give an injury prone prone 6’2 SG who can’t finish at the rim 60 million dollars?

  2. King_Wentz

Someone else can pay that – no thanks after his inability to stay on the floor at all

    >Bleacher Reports predicted that the soon-to-be 26-year-old could garner around $60 million, presumably over four seasons, on his next deal as a lockdown defender in the prime of his career.

    title is misleading

If Melton walks, that’s another asset (1FRP) down the drain that could’ve been better utilized in other areas.

In an offseason where Jerami Grant and Malcolm Brogdon were traded for 1sts, and Derrick White was acquired for a 1st and a swap, this has not aged well.

Melton was a solid innings eater for us, but couldn’t finish and his terrible shooting in key moments in the playoffs is honestly why game 7 and especially game 6 when the way it did.

Not a great mark on the report card for Morey on this one.

No f’n way after that back issue from last year. This gotta be some kind of agent leak.

  6. Wabxpolski

Im sure he would love that amount. Can’t wait to see what clown franchise offers an injury prone, playoff choker 15m a year.

    …..Shit

  7. Prior to his injury I think he was on track to be a 15-18m/year kinda guy. Given the weakness of this free agency class, I suppose there’s a chance he still gets that but I think non taxpayer MLE money is more likely for him. If he’s confident in his back, I’d say he should take a 1 year prove it deal and cash in next offseason.

For which team? Definitely not this one right?

  9. dabigchina

15 mil for a mysterious back injury?  Doubtful. He’s going to get a short term “prove it” deal like Kelly Oubre from somebody.

  10. From who? I’m only interested in him at around the minimum.

  11. clickstops

Title is super misleading and doesn’t represent the tweet.

  12. gophils19454

This is clickbait from bleacher report, Pompey is trash.

  13. TastelessPuppy2

“You really think someone would do that? Just go on the Internet and tell lies?”

  14. Melton is worth 4/$60 if he were 100% healthy. Back injuries ruin careers, and he was basically sidelined 4 months with this. I don’t see any team giving him that, so hopefully, he’ll sign a cheap 1 year deal to stay and prove he’s back to 100% then cash in next summer.

  15. PwillyAlldilly

These players make too much… 60 mil to be mediocre???

  16. ProcessTrust856

Yeah that’s title is a little misleading. He caveats it based on his back health and says “there’s a sense” he’ll get a bigger contract, which sounds to me like “his agent told me to say this.”

  17. mistergrape

He’s more likely to receive a 4-level ALIF.

  18. therealallpro

I wonder if he would have been helpful in the playoffs?

  19. I love Melton but it would be a horrible mistake to give a guy with back issues that money

  20. kevinwhackistone

No fucking way we should sign him. Not in a million years.

  21. TheArsenal7

WTF. NBA contracts are insane bums get paid crazy

  22. Colangelo_Ball

Only 4 teams have $15 million or more in cap space. Okc isn’t using 15 of their 16 million on him, he’s not getting that here, so there’s DET and UTA left when there’s an assassin scorer named Tobias Harris about to be available.

  23. Section_80

Idk who’s gonna offer that, but he should take it from whoever it is

  24. WeirdSysAdmin

Oh that’s good for him who is paying that?
