Malik Monk is a PERFECT Sixers free agent target 👀

Malik Monk is a PERFECT Sixers free agent target 👀

leak monk could earn up to $25 million annual in free agency monk who is still only 26 years old is set to be aggressively pursued by teams in need of additional shot creation and playmaking ability the one thing that the Philadelphia 76ers seem to always always always lack additional shot creation and playmaking ability I swear I feel like every season I watch the Sixers no matter who’s on the squad the whole season no matter what all these role players look like in the in the regular season I swear every postseason the Philadelphia 76ers somehow find a way to morph back into the same onedimensional team where there’s two guys that look like they can do things and everyone else just has trouble playing basketball you know it just doesn’t matter who it is what they looked like in the regular season it always morphs back into a Twan show and everybody else can’t do anything so yeah the Sixers are one of the teams that are in need of additional shot creation and playmaking ability now we got additional shot creation and playmaking ability from camer and pay so you know I love that trade at the deadline for Daryl mury even though it took Nick nurse three games to play him we had to go down 02 before he put the guy on the floor listen the more I watch these NBA playoffs the more what Nick and NS did in that Nick series pisses me off and I don’t care I like him way better than Doc Rivers but he’s not immune to criticism um so we got some playmaking and shot creation from Cameron Payne uh the Anthony Melton’s one of those guys but of course he had the back issue Kelly Uber was one of those guys but just turned back into Kelly UB uh you know right when the playoffs started and he wasn’t terrible in most of the series but yeah we can always use additional shot creation and playmaking ability so Evan cider says keep an eye on the magic the Pistons the Thunder and the Sixers as potential fits now I don’t know what the Oklahoma City Thunders cap space looks like um most of their players are still on rookie deals which is crazy that they were the number one seed in the west um ultimately got upset by a more experienced Dallas Mavericks team um but yeah I don’t know what their cap space looks like but you know they could if they would add Malik monk that that would be uh that would be an that would be an enticing you know if he’s looking at teams If he if say all four of these teams make a make an offer of 25 million a year you know which sounds like a lot from Mal leag monk but the way the NBA is going the the the rate that the money is climbing 25 million is becoming nothing you know um those four teams say those four teams put that on the table where would Malik monk be most interested in going I’m going to be flat out honest with you I would pick the Thunder if I’m monk bro I’m like hey this is a young Squad they were the number one seed in the west uh they got a ton of potential um I’m going to go over there and play with those but but also it it depends what he would be looking for as a role right I guess players are looking for that too they’re not just looking for the money and they’re not just looking for how good a team could possibly be they’re also looking for which team is going to give me the biggest role right and if you look at the Oakland City Thunder you know they got Jaylen Williams they got Jaylen Williams they got sgaa they got Chad holgren uh they got a bunch of guys over there that have this combo shot creation playmaking type of role and I I feel like the Thunder have like five number twos on their team you know so Malik monk could look at the Thunder and be like I like that team but there’s a little redundancy in the roles you know even Isaiah Joe has a similar Malik monk type of role uh as just a plug-and-play combo player Off the Bench so if he looked at those four teams and he said who’s offering the money which team has the potential to win in the playoffs and which team could give me the biggest role then it’s the Sixers then it’s flat out the Sixers because Malik monk could be the number three on you know the the number three is wide open on the Sixers Squad it’s been wide open for a long time because of Tobias Harris um you know Kelly UB was was thrown into that number three but is Kelly UB really a number three uh I think Malik monk could really be a number three you know and he’s only 26 years old he’s made $9 million the last two years of his career he signed a 2-year 18 million with the Sacramento Kings that was after his little stint with the Lakers and he really started to blow up he really started to come into His full potential the past season or two with the Sacramento Kings playing with dearen Fox his former Kentucky teammate um so there was some chemistry there that I think helped him you know rise and become kind of the player that everybody thought he was going to be when he was drafted I remember when I remember looking at that draft and he was such a high Prospect and he was a a quick quick trigger sniper in college he had a 47-point game against Duke I remember that 47 in a college basketball game and then he came into the league and just kind of got tossed around and couldn’t find a roll and didn’t really stand out and you know took him just took him a little while to find himself uh but he really started to Blossom the past two years in Sacramento and now he’s going to get a nice payday because of it but I think think you’re seeing a guy who at 26 years old could just be entering the real peak of his career and it would be a really good gamble for the Sixers to throw out a four-year hundred million contract to Malik monk I know y’all might think that sounds crazy no I can’t give Malik monk a $100 million contract 25 million a year is not crazy uh teams have to take chances and a player at 26 years old who just did what he did in Sacramento or in certain games like you look at his averages that’s the thing if you really watch games versus just looking at the box score you’re going to understand more of what we’re talking about here if you’re just looking at his averages and you say he averaged 15 points per game he’s not worth $100 million it stats don’t say everything when you really watch some of those Kings games you know he really had some big time performances and fourth quarter performances and and dragging the team really in the fourth quarter when dearen Fox was getting clamped and there was games where he had big time shots to send at to overtime and he has I’m not saying it’s a signing that is like it’s a potential type of signing it’s like he has ascended he’s started to ascend and you would be signing him hoping that he continues to ascend right and hoping that he gives you that uh highlevel third option combo guard can dribble pass and shoot can uh shoots 35% from three shot 35% from three last season that’s not very high but uh on six attempts per game which is you know a pretty good number um and he has a dribble creation he has a finishing ability he’s always had a finishing ability he the dude he has Springs he has like sneaky Springs you know he has like almost Derek Jones junor Springs that nobody really talks about until Malik monk takes two dribbles and yams on somebody you’re like oh my God you know when he really [ __ ] it back bam everybody’s like oh sh I forgot Malik monk can finish like that you know so he has real sneaky athleticism when he gets a a a head of steam to the rim he can really finish with the best of them I don’t see any reason anybody would be arguing against a Malik signing um I just wanted to come on here give my opinion on on that uh that makes perfect sense for the Sixers now if you’re looking at Daryl mury and what Daryl mury does and what Daryl mury seems to uh seems to prefer as a GM then you could be sitting there saying uh yeah that ain’t G to happen you know if D if if Malik monk is on the table and Daryl Mur is still elects to chase after a 35-year-old Paul George I would be frustrated with that because with a player like this if you could sign a player like this to four years um you know you’re not just getting a potential win now third option with somebody like Paul George you’re just hoping he has a couple years left in the tank to try to swing for the fences for you know two more years uh next to Joel em beat and the Paul George thing for me would be like look is Paul George a high level third option absolutely but not at the money that he’s going to want Paul George has a$ 52 million player option might be more than that so if he’s waving that player option he’s going to want that money he’s going to flat out want that money and I just can’t see giving Paul George a four-year contract I could see give him a two-year contract but would you rather have Malik monk at four years than Paul George at two years for the same uh amount of money over over the course of the contract two years 100 four years 100 you know what I’m saying also these are the type of players the Sixers need these are the type of players every NBA team needs and when you look at who’s left this is what Daryl muray needs to do and in his press conference he was arguing against this he was trying to say you know right now it’s looking like role players uh and minimum uh midlevel type of guys are are the winning formula and he was like but but like in the history of the game you know the team with the best players is really are the better teams so he was trying to downplay the fact that the NBA right now is not three Superstar super teams it’s not the Cleveland Cavaliers Golden State Warriors in 2016 anymore you know it’s a star or two stars surrounded by high level role players he was trying to argue against that fact in his press conference if you never saw that go back and watch it but these are are the type of players you need because with 65 million in cap space you get Malik monk at 25 now you still got money you still got money to get the that’s how these teams have four five six good level role players you know that’s how the Indiana Pacers are where they’re all right now that’s how the Boston Celtics are where they are right now that’s how the New York Knicks took us out you know like I said ogan anobi Dante Devan chenzo and Josh Hart were making $49 million combined Tobias Harris was making 40 and he gave us a goose egg when it mattered the most so like can we finally spend money the smart way this off season Daryl m is going to have a lot of cap space everybody thinks he’s going to go Star hunting again I just hope he doesn’t I just hope look you have Tyrese Maxi and Joel embiid yeah every year we’re going to hope that Joel embiid is healthy but the goal should be to put Malik monk type of players around those two guys

  1. He would be a great addition even at the $25m remember the Sixers were paying Fraud Simmons and Crumbl Cookie Harris way more. Monk is an elite shooter. Embiid driving into the paint drawing double teams to have both Maxey and Monk to make teams pay would be honest. Don’t go star hunting they already have 2 superstars. They need better role players.

  2. Orlando actually gives him the biggest role. Monk will be coming off the bench in Philly because him and Maxey would be an undersized backcourt. In Orlando, they dont really have a stable PG. Banchero and Wagner run the team a lot mainly due to not having a reliable PG. Also, Orlando is young too…

  3. It’s time the Sixers gave up recruiting any past their prime stars. How many teams left in conference finals are led by past their prime stars? Championships are won by teams that have an assertive young PG who is not afraid to take control in the 4th. Embiid is mostly injured or crashes in the 4th. Sixers already have the star PG. Make him the pivot.

  4. Run It Back signing Monk for 20 to 25 million a year makes absolutely no sense at all. Are you on Meth?

I guess you want to give Kelly the same amount as well?

Monk didn't help the Kings get out of the first round the pass 2 seasons. What he going to do with the Sixers?

Look it's LeBron or Butler or Bust. Then the Sixers can focus on number #1 resigning Kelly and going after Drummond Then they can resign Batum and Covington for 3 million a year.

Also if they get LeBron it will set them up to trade for another Good Starter because they would still have their picks.

  5. Run it Back what's going on with you Dude?

You want to pay Monk 20 to 25 million when he puts up the exact same points as Kelly on very similar percentages?

No the Sixers need to focus on resigning Kelly who way bigger and a better Defensive Player than Monk. Especially if we got Dude like you wanting to give Monk 20 to 25 million a year.

  6. Trying to lure Quickley away from Toronto would be my first choice. He was college teamates with Maxey and that will definitely help as they build chemistry. Quickley will probably get 22-25 million a year. If Quickley is unavailable then Monk is a great consolation prize.

I also would'nt mind the 76ers bringing in RTB MB to Philly.

We need a wing and the guy is a baller on the floor. As far as off the court. Definitely not pretty and I don't condone his actions however maybe there is a redemption arc in his story.

And the reason why this makes sense is due to the fact that you will be able to get both of these players for the price of Paul George.
