[Agness] “This one will sting … Pacers give away Game 1, commit 22 turnovers in 133-128 OT loss at Boston. Pacers were up three, turned it over twice in 19s and Brown hit big 3. Jrue Holiday w/ 28-7-8. Haliburton had 25/10a. Pacers outscored 24 to 9 at FT line. Next: Game 2 Thu.”

Pacers are fine.
This was a classic
Haliburton choked with those turnovers
Epic choke job by the Pacers.
What a rollercoaster
Quick turn around game for the Pacers, they competed well in a loss
Literally all they had to do was foul when they were up 3.
Not even a pacers fan but fuck u guys sold like terrible
Haliburton cannot dribble
Y’all say it’s the refs but the Pacers gave up the most FTs per game in the regular season and continuously let opposing teams shoot 20+ FT per game in the playoffs.
At what point do you say “maybe the Pacers just foul a lot”?

The Pacers can blame the refs, the ft difference but it doesn’t change the fact that they had 3-4 chances to close the game and blew ALL OF THEM.
If Boston wins both home games, pacers are cooked lol
Hard one to take and and move on to the next one
People calling it a chokejob when 90% of the game thread were counting them out in the 1st quarter. Maybe they’re just a good team that people underestimate because “east bad upvote left?”
The Pacers blew it
Pacers should’ve won this but their experience showed. I think this will be a much closer series than people think. The pacers were being so disrespected before it even started.
if they keep up this level of offense they will be fine
Literally could call a time our to advance the ball and inbound it better. Wtf was they’re thinkin
Stunning loss for them, don’t know if they have what it takes to recover but we shall see
Choked so bad. All we had to do was inbound the fucking ball and game was basically over
The Indiana Pacers have to be absolutely devastated, they had Game 1 on the road for the taking but lost the game due to crucial mistakes.
Epic choke job by the pacers. Those turnovers at the end were truly something to behold. Thought I was watching a highschool team play for a few minutes
Absolute fumble
I’m Disappointed, my precious Tatum fraud narratives can’t start yet.
I have butt cancer
You can point to overtime mistakes but don’t ignore the fact that the game should’ve never gone to fucking overtime for many reasons.
Ending of regulation was brutal. Shows the inexperience of the Pacers. Bad TO, bad inbound pass. To the next one!
I don’t trust an inexperienced team to bounce back after a loss like that—especially against a 1 seed. I think Celtics win easily in Game 2 and Pacers lose in 5.
Soul crushing stuff.
This is like a Boston haters nightmare game lol
Not fouling was a terrorist move by Rick.
They probably had to have that one to win the series. If Unicorn comes back in game 4 I don’t see Indy having a good shot at winning.
If the Celts wake up and actually play like the #1 seed and if KP comes back by next week this was probably the best chance for the Pacers to get home court advantage.
But then again it seems like the Celts hate home court and plays better on the road anyway
this is the type of loss that loses u the series and they might get swept . not bc they’re that bad but bc this is a brutal loss
This is how games have been between these teams. Celtics will maybe drop one but they have too much talent for the Pacers to overcome in a series.
Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory
Siakam running towards the Celtics basket was really dumb on that inbounds play. Run towards the ball or down to the other end of the court.
pacers baby whatchu did
Some dubious calls went against the pacers (Brown grabbing siakim) that forced the TO up 3 with 10 seconds to go.
Also earlier pacers challenge the foul on siakim where clearly Brown is grabbing siakims jersey for a good 5 seconds, then a foul is called on pacers but upheld.
Don’t get me wrong from then on Boston cooked them mentally (especially Hali).
Pacers in 5 though
The change came in when Nesmith fouled out of the game. As good as TJ is, he is a defensive liability. So when Pacers had the biggest lead (was it 5 points) should have subbed in a bigger man. Just my opinion.
So which is it?
Celtics playing close game = Shouldn’t be close, should be blowing these teams out.
Celtics playing blow outs = Celtics aren’t battle tested, can they do it in crunch time?
…
Pacers fans, this loss has to hurt. But, it’s game 1 of a 7 game series. All you can hope is the team brings the same energy. There were so many mistakes and miscommunications throughout the game yet they still had it right in front of them. Pacers aren’t a real 6th seed, I can see this going 7 for sure.
