I think his offensive game will be elevated by way of being the fifth option instead of the fourth once Giddey is gone.
Lineups with Giddey/Dort [registered a true shooting of 55.3](https://www.nba.com/stats/lineups/advanced?slug=advanced&GroupQuantity=2&TeamID=1610612760) in this playoff run. That’s our third least efficient two man lineup that played over 100 minutes together. Giddey is, of course, apart of one of the two two man lineups that was less efficient. Simply replacing Giddey with Joe in the regular season elevated our net rating from +10.2 to +16. Dort and Giddey just can’t play together, we can’t have two guys who the defense is willing to funnel the ball to on the court at the same time. That leads to Dort driving into three bodies, and that leads to Giddey missing badly on open threes.
