the energy what’s the move like uh feel good happy ready to play you said uh you said after game seven see probably going to be guarding Kyrie is uh kind of are you looking forward to that match up yeah are youing on Luka at all as well or I mean of course yeah me and Jaden going to definitely be I mean we both guard you know the best guys on the other team so we might be Cross Match so yeah I’m going to be on Luka and Kyrie for sure with with Phoenix and Denver you you’ve obviously faced a lot of attention a lot of double teams and things like that have you felt yourself kind of growing in terms of decision making throughout just the course of these playoffs in terms of what you need to do offensively to combat that kind of attention yeah for sure um you know I get it I I get preached to all day every day so if I don’t get better at it then something wrong with me but yeah I feel like I’ve gotten a lot better at just you know reading the game did you pick up from uh Lou Dort on film or watching those games on how he gave l a tougher time uh I thought he should have been on one of the defensive teams sure um and just how he just kept playing kept pursuing through every screen you know he he run a lot of pick and rolls um he just didn’t stop pursuing every time he was fighting through every screen um you know contesting every shot just played hard the entire time good blueprint for you guys yeah for sure yeah and U mik com was in here yesterday and Rudy were both talking about how it’s unusual for a guy your age to get to the Western CRS finals this early and and and Mike talked about how it could be a springboard for you have you thought or what this could be like as far as like how it can Propel you to where you want to get to um nah haven’t really thought about it but it’s definitely somewh I love to be every year how much are you embracing this opportunity though I mean you’re not guaranteed right I mean you 25 26 27 yeah um you got to take advantage of it man you got to come in ready to go every night um can’t leave nothing on um on the well leave everything on the court leave nothing up for grabs give it your whole effort all your energy um you know cuz like you said you I don’t know when I’ll be back here um Mike Conley said he was here when he was like 24 so it’s been a minute so um you know hopefully we make the most of it are are you inching towards the point where you’re just as proud of what you do defensively versus what you do offensively me myself yeah yeah for sure um cuz I’m not viewed as like a defensive player but I feel like teams know like the players who I’m guarding know like man he can slide his feet I need to stay away from him so I think I’m I’m definitely proud of myself what I do defensively do you do you notice stages like this or where you start to be known as a defensive player yeah for sure um yeah I think they starting to realize it yeah did you noce you got four defensive team yesterday only four it’s crazy and you on the Denver series you were like at the same time your team was favorite and Underdog at the same time in which situation would you say you thrive the most we Thrive the most um probably when we was the underdog when we was the favorite I don’t think we did anything we didn’t do good we lost three games in a row when we was favorites um but when we went back when we went back to being underdogs we won two in a row so probably won was an I know this uh this Dallas team has changed a lot since you guys played them play them all before the the trade deadline but they did have Kyrie and Luca in in some of the games you played against them what what did you guys do well guarding that what do you need to do better against those two um I don’t know they good man they got two great offensive players um we got two great defensive players so whatever we did in the past is in the past if it didn’t work it didn’t work we trying to focus on whatever we do tonight and see if it works um which is just going out there playing hard and guarding at the best of me and jayen uh ability so I think we’ll be pretty good you you will be guarding one of Kyrie or Luka do you want the challenge of one of them guarding you at the same time um I mean I’m not here to start anything um I love playing defense so I’ll guard one of them whatever it takes to win what’s the attention like the of detail like the attention of detail how’s that heightened over like when you’re going through like your Scouts and everything else like how much more has it changed as the player I mean it’s it’s super important because you want to know like their abilities um and the other guys I think the attention to detail tell to the other guys is what’s more important like Luca and Kyrie going to be Luca and Kyrie regardless of how how many coverages you get in and how many times you try to double them I mean they going to shoot their shots they going to make them they going to miss them you got to live with it but it’s the other guys I think their attention to detail is super important cuz they love to they love to catch and shoot or catch and drive one way they’re not good using the other hand some of them don’t like pressure you know they depend on luuka and Kyrie to create everything so um the attention to detail is important with the other three guys on the floor you should play soccer you should play so so is there something that you take from that soccer soccer players that you no I never played soccer no like football sorry football oh yeah um like football like my football um my football SOC yeah right right right um just being physical toughness um yeah I think those the main two things being able to take a hit yeah Kyrie is plays off ball a lot um he’s really good at it what types of different challenges does that present to you yeah he he he plays on the ball I mean Luca has the ball the entire time but when he gets it he you know he gets in his bag so I’m a one-on-one Defender he’s a one-on-one player so I mean if he’s playing off the ball the entire series like not going one1 then it’s probably going to be troubling for me for sure he probably get a little bit right like he does move relocate through open shots things like that uh I don’t know I mean we’ll see tonight I don’t know awesome thanks
