If we’re being real, he didn’t have a great season apart from him playing career high games. I was actually waiting for the post-season and the playoffs to finally get to see how would he perform in a playoff atmosphere and thought that he could possibly change the narrative around him but that was just too good to be true. He just didn’t look like a guy that was leading his team to the playoffs, it was sometimes CJ, sometimes Trey, sometimes BI… Yeah playing team basketball is great but if you want to be the #1 guy on this team you need to look like that for the most of the season. He played like a 2nd or 3rd option than a clear 1st option until the last couple of months. He looked nice in the last couple of months but team fall to the play-ins and he got injured. He also had too many stinkers this season like the IST game against the Lakers, final reg. season game against the Lakers, the Memphis game where Ja came back, etc. Apart from his 40 point explosion in that play-in game, there weren’t many things to be excited about him this season. He just didn’t look like a franchise leading player, it was a quiet season for him. He didn’t even had some buzz around his name. The mainstream media barely posted his highlights, and if they ever brought him up it was about his weight and off-court drama. Hope he takes care of himself and comes back better and healthy next season.
