Mavericks take Game 1, Luka Doncic & Kyrie Irving too much for the T-Wolves? | NBA | THE CARTON SHOW

game one of the Western confs Finals last night in Minnesota Kyrie Irving handled the first halfam but it was Luca donic who took over in the second half bringing the Mavericks to a win specifically Luca did a lot of work in the fourth quarter down the stretch look at the numbers right there Craig are Kyrie and Luca simply too much for the Timberwolves to handle no it was 102 101 with less than 2 minutes to go in the game that’s a pretty tight game considering the fact that those guys both played very very well and scored very very well obviously Kyrie in the first half and I know Tim’s celebrating the fact that the Mavericks take game one it was a very well played game Luca had a couple big defensive plays in this game as well which I’ll get to in a second but you know if I’m Minnesota I wake up today I’m okay I’m okay because hey I’ve already proven I could come back I did it against the Denver Nuggets when everybody was counting me out after I blew that 20 series lead and you got great games yesterday out of and Luca and it’s 10200 in our favor with less than 2 minutes to go so as great as the night do those two guys had and obviously there you know the motor and the Machine and the engine that uh everything in Dallas is built off of and Kyrie had a brilliant first half the 24 points in the first half cvy calm down in the second half and kind of turned it over to Luca I’m concerned if I’m a Mavericks fan I’ll tell you why as they made their run and they overcame the last two minutes uh and that late Timberwolves lead they resorted to herob ball where Lucas stopped passing the ball uh late in that fourth quarter and it was me against everybody and four guys on the perimeter no one else is going to touch the ball and last night Luca did a good job and obviously made the shot that ultimately gave them the spread to win the game but that’s not the recipe in my opinion for the Dallas Mavericks to win this series Tim I know you want to jump into this so go right ahead yeah I I appreciate you letting me jump into this yes yes right so so so first of all you’re not going nobody wins championships by 10 points 20 points every game so just because you up the other team is up one or two points with two minutes left to go that don’t that don’t mean that you won the game my point no no it’s a 48 minute game all the time okay game supposed to be competitive that’s why they in the Western confence Conference Finals okay another thing is is that this is way Luca and Carrie always play first of all let me say this Anthony Edwards keep your mouth closed don’t wake up as sleeping giant be careful what you ask for because what you ask for is Kyrie Irving yeah and Kyrie Irving is a he’s a beast out there on the basketball court and you got to run around with him and you got to stick him and you got to uh get over picks and that’s you know and that takes a lot out of you each and every game and and at the end of that game Anthony Edwards was very EX exhausted yeah Kyrie took over in the first half Luka always take over in the second half uh sometimes Kyrie take over in the fourth quarter but no it wasn’t herob ball everybody everybody no no I’m going I’m going to tell you why it wasn’t herob ball okay Anthony erwards all right they coming off pick and roll uhhuh none of them comes off the corners nobody comes off the shooters so you got the lob or I got my man on the Luka got the man on his back and and and and and Gore bear is in a drop Gore be is is not up to touch and and being in front of in front of luuka and making him do something okay he’s in a drop all the time that means that he’s in the lane he’s in a drop he’s waiting for the guard to come to Him Luke a lot of people don’t understand Luke is 69 68 69 he can shoot over every a lot of people and he’s very strong so when you got McDaniels on your back McDaniels is in a bad spot and you got the lob threat and you got the jumper right there coming at the end right there he sees everything let me get down to the plays that sealed the game it’s 104 102 Timberwolves have the ball uh come right down the lane and you’re going to see Luca make a really good defensive play here in the paint uh in the lane there’s lucer right there so you’re happy with where he’s at defensively supposed to be all right so Lucas doing his job there uh ball gets kicked around good ball Movement by the way by Minnesota very good ball movement and then let it Play Out Here Again Luke again in the lane uh makes the the rejection on the law pass there and then the Mavericks come back down the court so start off here this is good defense by LC stop stop it right there and just hold it right there all right look who’s in the corner okay look at first McDaniels if that’s McDaniels in the first half he was making those shots he didn’t even want to take the shot there he didn’t want to take that shot there okay so that means that late in the game he kind of uh kind of got you know didn’t want got shy didn’t want to take the shot so he started uh passing the ball he missed two or three in a row started passing the ball okay so and then on defense right here right there there’s nothing you can do look at the guard that’s supposed to come off uh Edwards didn’t come off and they they not helping this is oneone basketball look at this look what Edwards at not let K and look he’s one of the great scorers in the league uh and they won the game and they get all the credit I’m not knocking you down playing like this but here’s my issue with it and this is why I I’m the Timberwolves I don’t have a sleepless night last night I we did a little prematurely there go back to that play again this is after the block by Luca Mavericks have the ball right they’re up 104 102 all right obviously time winding down look at everybody guarding everybody else is on the perimeter but everybody’s at nobody everybody’s guard a man this is me vers the entire Tim it’s one1 it’s it’s the same way with Michael Jordan coming up on Russell he’s not he’s not Michael Jordan he’s like Michael Jordan close to Michael he closes games like Michael Jordan four guys watching and like you know who else is watching who the Minnesota timber War yes they are they are they watching him but see LCA closes games out like this K Irving closes games out like this you got two guys that close games you only got one guy for the Minnesota timber wols I take my two over your one well we’re going to see how it plays out I see you got a night off tonight another thing is that Minnesota they got to uh come up with a game plan either go they going to stay in the drop GB you going to stay in the drop or you going to come up and and and and double team l and get the ball out of his hands yeah Kyrie last night 24 points in the first half Luca 19 in the second half uh the Ant-Man did not shoot well again last night missed 10 shots 6 for 16 and it was Jade MCD who actually led the Tim roles in scoring last night with 24 do you get the sense Tim’s a little ornery today yeah he’s a little or he’s a little on edge today little bit on edge little excited they got CU you don’t get your beauty I like I like I like what Kyrie did you get called out you come and show people what you about had that huge uh that huge six point second half it doesn’t matter that huge that was big time right there if he had 24 in the first half they would get blown out okay so so it equals out hey there thank you so much for watching the carton show you can subscribe right here to get all the
