Stephen A. on Cavaliers FIRING J.B. Bickerstaff 🗣️ ‘HE DOES NOT DESERVE THIS’ | First Take

now we got the breaking news for you this morning from the NBA the Cleveland Cavaliers have fired head coach JB bicker staff sources told ESPN bicker staff ushered the Cavaliers through a rebuild winning 99 regular season games in the past two seasons including the franchise’s first birth in the Eastern Conference semis in six seasons Stephen A what’s your thoughts on this I’m not happy about it um I don’t think he deserved to be fired um I think that when you look at him and listen um I love me some Donovan Mitchell everybody knows that I wish he was a New York Nick um if Donovan Mitchell wanted him there I think he’d still be there that’s just my my belief I I haven’t spoken to anybody as of yet about it but that’s just my belief um clearly Cleveland wants to keep Donovan Mitchell For the Long Haul and I doubt that they would make a move that they think he would be averse to or completely objectionable to so I got to take that into consideration as well um but I just think that you know what I if you had decided to let him go after he loses in the playoffs because Donovan Mitchell doesn’t missed the last two games and Jared Allen isn’t hurt and can’t play in the series if they played and they lost um I I would be able to stomach this a little bit better the fact that both of them were out Jared Allen for the series Donovan Mitchell for the last couple of games especially after they had Beat Boston in Boston uh kind of rubs me the wrong way way but again I’m not surprised um this what happen this is what happens in the coaching profession and it’s not just the black coaches uh even though we see that qu far more often than I would like it’s to White coaches as well we see coaches getting fired left and right who we perceive is doing a relatively good job and and clearly um you know whether the players want to admit it or not how they play for a guy um and how they act towards a guy have a very B big role in deciding their tenure at these respective franchises absolutely but they did finish fourth in the East which is pretty impressive [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

  1. I’m a cavs fan, and if you watched them at all throughout the season one of JB’s biggest weaknesses is in game adjustments. There was several games where he wouldn’t, or he made the wrong adjustments which cost them games.

  2. He has a point. Cavs roster is a mess, but an easily fixable mess. Allen & Mobley and Mitchell & Garland are logjams in the front & back courts. If Mitchell extends, Garland & Allen will be moved for more off-ball players. Guys like Mikal Bridges & Myles Turner. Not necessarily those players, but guys like them. Get shooters around Mobley & Mitchell & the team is night & day better. That said, I would have liked to have seen what JB could have done with a better-constructed roster.

  3. This might be a move to bring jj Redick in so you know who can come there and play with you know who!

  4. 😂😂😂

So missing Jared Allen and the DM for two games means firing.

Far as DM not wanting him. Black players love White Coaches, watch a WhiteMan get hired.

  5. My guess is LeBron is open to coming back to Cleveland but not with JB as coach. That's the only thing that would make any sense unless Mitchell has made it clear he won't stay with Cleveland with J.B. as the coach.

  6. Why even mention if Mitchell wanted him there he would be there? Why is it the players job to save a coach they don’t necessarily like. Would you speak up to save the job of a supervisor you don’t like or are constantly at odds with? What about Stephen A when Max was moved did you speak up to save his position because I guarantee if you wanted him there he would be there.

  7. Cavs never had a complete roster and he still kept them with a winning record least now he could go to a better team

  8. Okay, I don't understand CLEARLY they had NO CHANCE whatsoever against Boston and Mitchell didn't play their last 2 games against the Boston.

  9. This new microwave generation business owners that have no clue about the game but there expectation are out the roof shouldn’t own an NBA team

  10. They better have a legit reason after this second round playoff loss where his young team went down in 7 games .what is the criteria for success ?going out in 6 games like oklahoma city did because if your looking for perfection then try jesus christ on the sidelines coaching .

  11. The owner mad at them for tanking to the 4th seed. They couldve had played an injured phi & weak indy team. But chose to be in the braket wit boston. I wouldve fired him too

  12. Eh, don't worry about it. JB Bickerstaff will be an assistant coach for some young team, their head coach will be fired, and JB will end of becoming the interim coach. Seems to happen quite often to him….
