[Weiss] Rick Carlisle thanked the Boston police for escorting the Pacers team bus today, cutting their commute down from 50 minutes at Game 1 to 7 minutes today. “These guys are unbelievable and a bunch of ass kickers, so very much appreciated there.”

Apparently the Boston Police didn’t get the memo of increasing the Pacers commute from 50 minutes to 1 hour and 37 minutes. Man Belichick leaving town really did change the area…

  2. Guess they didn’t use the same guys who did the PGA Championship last week.

  3. A lot of positive vibes going back and forth between Pacers and Celtics fans on discussion boards. Seems it’s extending to the teams too.

someone post this on r/pacers to let them know that Boston is a wholesome city unlike New York

  5. I imagine they are ass kickers but probably not in the way Carlisle thinks.

Well, the state of Indiana gave us Bird. It’s the least we could do.

the ppl of boston’s money paying for the pacers to cut down their commute at the cost of bostonians trying to go home/get places…waste of city resources to inconvenience bostonians is crazy

if the cops have the time to do this they need to get their funding cut cos clearly they aren’t using the money to benefit the city (not that they usually do)

  11. Guess the police have nothing better to do than be chauffers

Carlisle loves Boston police officers as much Gordon Hayward’s wife.

  13. It makes no sense at all to me how their commute from hotel they’re staying at to TD garden would’ve taken 50 minutes. Google maps says less than 20 minutes with traffic….

  14. I don’t think I want my police to be a bunch of ass kickers.

I’m glad the police are out there doing the important work this country needs

  16. Should’ve made them take the T. Green Line screech followed by a Garden playoff crowd would probably kill most people

Biden was in Boston during game one and a bunch of roads were closed

Am I the only one who feels like this probably isn’t something emergency services should be used for? The gesture is nice, but it isn’t magic. They achieve this by making everyone else’s drives a little worse. I’m fine with that when it’s an ambulance racing to save someone’s life, but these are just guys going to work.

President Biden was in town for a fundraiser during Game 1. City was an absolute shitshow that day, especially around the garden.

Pacers brought their asses so that Boston PD could kick them

I knew I had a good reason for disliking Rick Carlisle

Very glad a part of my paycheck went to fund this. Next time I take an extra long shit at work I’ll think of the Boston Police Department

I’m sorry, but why should a bunch of millionaires get a police escort? They can just leave earlier. Disgusting waste of public resources.
